Timing belt
Hi all I have a 1973 mk 1 facelift with a 2,000 block over head cam it has been parked up for the past 8 years and not driven while i am restoring it question is where can i purchase a timing belt is it possible to get one in ford garage any idea where i can purchase one many thanks to members who helped me in the past I live in Ireland Michael

Only 2 Zetec SE Fezzas left now, 1.6 ghia gone. Mk 1 Focus replaces, sticking with 1.6 Zetec SE - Location: Hatfield Peverel Essex

There are loads on ebay, would have thought most decent parts shops could get you one as well

And ,after being parked up for that long I would remove cam cover and pour a good dollop of engine oil along camshaft before you start turning engine over to prime oil supply

Thanks for your reply and advise did not think of pouring oil over cam.

It will be pretty dry after sitting for so long, and cranking speed is real hard on the cam/follower at the best of times ,and the pinto engine aint particularly robust in that dept anyhow . By the time you have cranked up oil pressure some damage could be done.
