Early 4 speed 2.8i For sale

Post by The Duke »

Hi all, A quick heads-up. I've just listed my Early 4 speed 2.8i for sale on carandclassics auctions starting next Wednesday.

https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/ ... ion-4o72q4

Its undergone a bare shell resto including rotisserie underside "raptor" treatment. I've spent upwards of 500 hundred hours ensuring every detail was covered as far as possible. Every nut, bolt bracket screw has been painstakingly, either restored or replaced with new parts, powdercoated or painted to ensure this car is as close to how it would have left the showroom back in 1981.

It has also undergone a 300 hour rotisserie body restoration at Classic Dreamworks, a Classic car restoration specialist in Hertfordshire.

My passion is returning classic Fords back to as close to original condition as I possibly can, and this is no exception. Every aspect of this superb example has been sympathetically restored. It is a genuine numbers matching 4 speed example and comes with so much history, I don't know where to begin. Brand new MOT supplied ( to go with almost every single MOT since 1984). It is registered as historic.

It has only completed 100 miles since the full resto. Pics and lots more info on the carandclassic link above.

Just to enlighten you on my quality standards, I have previously restored a 2nd place Hurlingham club concour Escort RS200 and achieved a record breaking auction price for a Capri 3.0 ghia. Lets see where this one goes?

It really is show ready and will almost certainly win prizes this year if that's your thing . Clear a space on the mantlepiece??

I hope you enjoy reading this and the checking-out the link.

Cheers
Paul

How can a 41 year old car have five decades of receipts :headscratch:

1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s........I count 5.
Perhaps the wording was ambiguous, but we're splitting hairs as we know what the seller means.

The car sounds gorgeous!

Andrew.
