My mate in the Black Country had a Lanc fly over his house this afternoon (Thurs), so low he could see the letters on the side apparently. Lucky devil.
Performing at Ragley Hall today
Beauty. What are the two rectangular holes in the top of the fusage? Never noticed them before. Are they originally for ABC aerials?
I was exploring RAE Bedford today with a mate and a B-17 flew over as we were heading to Stewartby (near Marston Mortaine funnily enough), it was quite high, but that huge tail section is unmistakable.
Can you imagine what it was like when there were hundreds of these big boys flying over at the same time
I'm the one who leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.

I believe they are escape hatches Tom. I think they are left open when on display flights 'just in case'!
Top marks mate! Professional standard, especially like that B-17 shot.
I drove past that Hurricane today outside Duxford.. me and my father have had this friendly argument for ages as to whether it rotates....he reckons it doesnt, but it definitely does

Yes. And he had this lovely looking red armband on, with a sort of stylised black cross on a white circle. It looked very striking, but so far I haven't found out which squadron it represents
He was clearly having a great time though, he was waving all the time

Your lucky as he always seems to fly around in his pants in Kent .

I worked at Marham as a civvy with a fellow ex- chief Tech who did volunteer work at Duxford.
He told me the Hurricane is plastic and mounted on a gimbal to act as a weather vane.
