Spice up your life lads

Post by Fordoholic Nick »

I still use this. I close my eyes and the smell takes me back to when I was a kid and its Sunday morning and dad is ready and dressed for church and has splashed himself

Have you started shaving Nick

Old Spice, Denim, Blue Stratos, Brut 33 were all good, and you're right certain smells can take you back 40 years

I'm driven by price now, so Tesco XPRT Body Spray for me at 70p per tin

My dad used to use Blue Stratos, good old stuff :)

Yeah smell is a very potent trigger for memories, as Syd Barrett sang "for all the sounds inside that room, the dolls house, darkness, old perfume and fairy stories held me high as clouds of sunlight floated by."

I bought some of the Old Spice Captain in Northumberland as I had forgotten my gentleman's overnight bag.. it's nice too!

This is about as exciting as my saturday gets as I am looking after two dogs... great reminder of why I don't own dogs this.

I'm just happy to accept that I shall continually smell of WD-40.

That's actually quite a pleasant aroma. I'd say the manufacturers should bottle it, but they already do! :D

So how do you find the new spray nozzle Mr Tom. I find it very easy to unlock and it has a great feel to it which makes it very comfortable under standard condition uses and the ratio and strength of the deployed deodorant itself is very pleasing under my armpit. :)

Good morning all This topic reminded me of a Capri I nearly purchased a few years back. Around September 2017 I was looking for a 2.8 and saw an ad for one near me in Suffolk. Went to look at it and the dealer told me it had been used in an Old Spice competition/ad some time ago. A300 TAR certainly had and was in pretty good condition. Can still be found on YouTube It had had the side mouldings removed and black S decals fitted (white car) Beautiful red leather interior fitted ,supposedly both an Old Spice requirement. Apart from a few scabby areas and rodent damage to the roof headlining above the drivers visor the car sounded and looked gorgeous. The dealer would put right all the wrongs and a deal was struck at 11250. I put down a deposit and was to collect the the sorted car 3/4 weeks later. While I had been checking the car over, looking underneath I found that the whole car had very recently been completely under sealed black. I was a bit surprised at the time, but a few days later the surprise turned into worries and started to magnify. Anyway after telling myself the whole car was rotting away enderneath,I pulled out of the deal losing my deposit. Ouch. I think now that I was probably wrong because aquick check with dvla reveals a pretty perfect mot history since. Has a current mot till 23. Maybe the owner is a member of this forum and is reading this now. Hope all went well with A300TAR. I went on to purchase a slightly later 2.8 diamond white early 86. Has not been without its problems ha ha. Look out for my next question on Q and A regarding a strange engine maybe, noise. All the best to all. keep safe. Peter

If somebody could bottle the smell of Castrol R that would take you right back to the seventies.
