1/43 project SOO 636R
Hi,
nothing too much interesting, but I post it here.
I wanted 1/43 model of Doyle's Capri Mk2 X-Pack (SOO 636R), but I didn't find it anywhere. Don't know if model of this Capri was ever offered.
So I bought 1/43 Mk2 X-Pack model with strange color combination and turn it into SOO 636R. See photos.
By the way anybody knows anything about this car? I found information from 2016 that it was in restoration, but nothing more or photo or anything.
Or if anybody have more old photos of this car from 70's or 80's, put them here please. I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
Tom

Your model looks great
Didn't see that much of the actual car in the TV programme, and I've read that it was scrapped mid 80's and that the one that exists now isn't the real one, and apparently there is a LHD one somewhere in the world (Unless that is the one that exists )

Re: 1/43 project SOO 636R
Thanks!
I've also read in the past that it's scrapped, but last month (when I tried to find more photos of this car to make 1/43 model) I found some discussion on FB or Twitter or somewhere from 2016 and anybody wrote there that he had this car in garage for 30 years and now (in 2016) it is under restoration. But it wasn't true probably.
That LHD version is here in Czech Republic, but it isn't that original car of course. That guy after restoration only made same licence plates and put them there on car shows etc.

And friend now restore "factory/dealer" original silver LHD Mk2 X-Pack, so two of them will be here in future.

Great job, that looks fantastic !
Using a Neo model as a base is quite extravagant, they're very expensive!

Yes, price was higher, but it was the only option for Mk2 X-Pack.

That's a superb model, I like it a lot. Looks superb. I am lucky to have a custom 1:18 British Police Capri, working lights.
Concerning the original car, have you contacted Bob Rocca at all? He has a wealth of knowledge on all things Professionals, has written two books, and mentions the cars and the registrations etc. heavily in them. He has also owned one or two of the cars from the series.
I can give you some contact details if you need them, just PM me.

Re: 1/43 project SOO 636R
That’s a good find , but what has interested me is the cortina in the advert with the spoiler on the back as I see a cortina in the 70s with that and tried in late 80s to get one for mine but never found one as I was told ford never put a spoiler on a cortina .

Nice work. I have just done this for my son as they don't do an ST500, Focus. He loved it so I'm happy with the end product

Hahaha!
£122 isn't unreasonable for a 1/18th scale model though.

good find. This model is also home made, right?
But there should be 1/18 model from MCG in the future. Have you already ordered it Andrew?
