Door Frame Seals
Hi Everybody,
I hope that you're all keeping safe and well.
I've found a set of genuine door frame seals in a box. They've never been fitted to the car since I've had it and it's not obvious, to me at least, where they're supposed to fit. Can anybody shed some light, or better still, upload a photo of them in situ?
These are the seals I am referring to:

Thanks in advance, any help would be appreciated.
Andrew.

One thing I can tell you is that I want a set . They are on the list and I was getting to think I might have to either make a set or resurect the ones I have ..........got any more ?
They look like they should just glue on .

Looking at them again, I think they where Henry's way of helping the Door Seals, seal, when the door is closed over the 'step' from the door to the window frame???
Cheers Andrew. I look forward to inspecting these when we all next get together!!! All the best, cheers,
John...

Re: Door Frame Seals
Hi Hamish, thanks. I would have thought there would be a bit to push down into the gap between the door and the frame but apparently not, they glue on as you suggest.
Hi John, thanks for those crystal clear photos. It's much appreciated, especially as it's cold outside and, judging by the rain drops on your paintwork, wet too ! The seals definitely look like an afterthought don't they?
Thanks again chaps,
Andrew.

Great photos, sometimes a photo is just the best thing for a description.
Any tips for removing 36 year old ones and refitting them after painting?? New ones look like they are going to be expensive!

they do look a bit out of place and like an afterthought, and I don't recall seeing them on any of mineAndrew 2.8i wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:22 pm Job done!

Always interesting to know the conclusion of threads like this, so with that in mind, which method/products did you use to attach them?

Re: Door Frame Seals
I used some spray adhesive by Mercado. It's a simple enough fix once you know where they go.
On the CCI website for their repro rubbers, it does say that many Capris have lost them by now. They'd have to be taken off if ever the door frame was removed, they would then have to be reattached afterwards and I suppose some don't bother or maybe even can't find them.

Re: Door Frame Seals
Great, and glad it is sorted. Have to admit that, without checking, can't even recall if my car has them or not!
