New Years Day 2022 @ Walton Bridge

Post by Taff50ish »

Hi all,

Well, I went for it again. Braved the possible rain which never really came for a change, so that was good, as I actually chucked a bucket at the Cappa the other night to get ready for this meet... So this was arranged by the 'West London Classic Ford' guys. So I set off having had a reasonable lay in, as this was not a crack of Dawn meet and got down to the Holding area for the off to Walton Bridge itself. So here are the motors I met up with here...

There were a few more motors behind me, but for some reason I seem to have already lost these pics... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

So off we set to Walton Bridge, to a filling car park and got nicely parked up all together....

As you can see, I ended up in a Cortina sandwich....

Here are some of the rest I convoyed with... Some amazing cars here...

Who doesn't like a Granada or a MoreDoor Escort???

Yet another cracking MoreDoor Escort...

If the MoreDoor isn't your thing. What about an Estate then??? Especially this very tasty one!!!

Or how about this Estate then???

This was / is a very nice honest Estate!!!

And what about Inkys Tow Truck.... I really like this.... (Cheers for getting us all together)

2 absolute STUNNERS here.... I think I'd go for the 1600 Sport if I was lucky enough to be able to have one!!!
ImagePic 10. Nice close up by jon taylor, on Flickr

While we're looking at the Escort's. How about a sorted original Harrier??? Love these!!!
ImagePic 12a. Nice by jon taylor, on Flickr
ImagePic 12b. Nice by jon taylor, on Flickr

To be honest, I'm running out of nice things to say about the Escort's which came along. They're all stunning. Look at these 2.....
ImagePic 13. Nice by jon taylor, on Flickr

Close up time for these!!!
ImagePic 14. Close up by jon taylor, on Flickr

More Escort's now!!! I tell you, if you like Escort's, this was the place you should have been, luckily for me I do and I was!!!!
ImagePic 20. Close up by jon taylor, on Flickr

OK, really running out of things to say now, so how about this red one???
ImagePic 21. Close up by jon taylor, on Flickr

But I do really like a MKII RS2000. Luckily there was another here...

So back to the estates then. How about this nice MKIII Cortina... This was really stunning for me!!! My Dad had a Saloon version of this in Roman Bronze!!!

A couple of Cortina's beat us to the Cafe. But I was able to get a very nice Latte in the end....

These are nice, these are the ones I saw at the Black Swan the other week.... Looking amazing still....

OK then. Time for a few of the others who braved the weather...

And a Block big enough to rip you into 2023.....
Image20220101_113315 by jon taylor, on Flickr

Well, I've not much else now, so I'll call it a day here for now. I really do hope you all enjoyed looking through these as much as I enjoyed taking them. This has now really got me in the mood for more meets.... Roll on!!!!! I hope to catch up with you all at some shows / meets this year. Let us know where you're going in the Events page??? Cheers for now.....

Merry New year all, cheers,

John...

Hi John,
Happy New Year to you!
I can't really add to your descriptions, you've summed up what an amazing collection of stunning cars they are. It's an especially good turnout considering it's the middle of Winter. I love those Fords that you convoyed in with - what a thrill that must have been. :D

Andrew.

Hi John,

Mate what another brilliant set of photos from you. You really have been busy recently fella

I really wish i had got my arse into gear this morning and joined you for the blast down to Walton Bridge. Looked a stunning selection of motors. This realky is a, terrific breakfast meet... I really must get along to another one.

That convoy meet you told me about sounded great but now i see your photos it looked even better !!! Wow.!! I was gonna say "and all Fords too" but then i seen it was organised by the West London Classic Ford guys

As said brilliant set of photos and just some beautiful motors. Yours really is just STUNNING fella. Its moved onto another level if this was possible after the bodywork and detailing. Has to be one of the best out there... AND YOU STILL DRIVE IT IN RAIN 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳

Not really veen getting myself in the zone much afte6the terrible year just gone but now starting to really look forward to meeting up with you and others in the new year upon us... Weather permitting 😂😂😂😊

All the best mate

Nick

Great pics again John!!

A majority of those cars are now tax exempt, and assuming they are insured all year around it's much better for just getting out when they want

I agree there is something about Inkys tow truck :) You don't see too many early Sierras about, I reckon I have a rare beast :D

Amazes me how a new Fiesta can look bigger than the large older cars :? Everything is wider and higher now and all look the same

Hi Andrew, Jason, Nick & Andy,

Yep, this was a great little off the cuff meet-up.... I've even seen a little clip on YouTube of us leaving the holding pen.... I swear I got it more sideways!!! :xd: :xd: :xd:

Yep, we've defo got to get together for a meet up before too long. Even see about getting Andy out in the Sierra??? Looking forward to seeing this Andy!!! In the flesh as it where... I tel you, I can't wait till I'm Tax exempt and ULEZ clear!!! I can't get to the Chelsea Cruise without paying £12.50 think it is... Unless I go in the modern Box!!!

I really was running out of things to say Andrew... Also, I'm just back from another Black Swan breakfast meet this morning, the usual 2nd Sunday in the Month meet and this was packed, they were even getting classics in the wet field!!! Watch this space...

Cheers all for now, all the best,

John...

Hi all,

Cheers for this Andy... I feel I should have kept quite now!!! That's quite an embarrassing attempt, it felt much better at the helm!!! When I was a Lad it would have been full tilt!!! :xd: :xd:  :xd: :xd: Also yep, to clip from the other thread... Yep, the 19K was a while ago now!!! :drive: :drive: :drive: But I've just got to....

Got to get hold of some Janspeed's Andrew, they do sound amazing, but you have to put the miles in, as when I got them they did sound a bit tinny, but coked up a bit works wonders!!!

Cheers,

John....
