A Busy Black Swan breakfast meet. Jan 2022.

Post by Taff50ish »

Hi all,

So I had forgotten about this breakfast meet till first thing this morning when it hit me, it was the second Sunday in the Month. So I set off a little late to get down to this and I'm glad I did, what a turn out... So I got down there and the Marshall said I might need to park in the wet field!!! Ekk!!! But then said to have a little drive round to see if anyone had left. So I did and luckily as I pulled round the corner there was a big 4X4 leaving, leaving me a nice big space next to the Capri's Nemesis!!!! The Opel Manta!!!! Oh dear... Luckily I really like these and one of my mates had one when we were growing up... I do remember how good these were... What do you recon???

Stunning if you like Engines. Sorry, BIG Engines!!!

You should have heard the Growl on this!!! I think they'd fitted extra Noise in it somehow!!!!
ImageAmericana V8 g by jon taylor, on Flickr

This guy was risking it in the field!!! But then again, his Rubber should be wide enough to get him out if the worst happened!!!

ImageEuro c by jon taylor, on Flickr

Another pretty quick Euro here for you...
ImageEuro V Brit a by jon taylor, on Flickr
NO, Not the Metro!!! (Rover 100???) I did my driving test in a Metro like this with BSM all those years ago... My foot covered both the Brake & Accelerator at the same time, so kept stalling it.... But the examiner realised and I got a pass!!! Phew!!!
ImageEuro V Brit b by jon taylor, on Flickr

OK, the other end of the Euro spectrum then. Andrew, over to you again!!! The infamous Fiat 500 Estate!!! :xd:  :xd:
ImageEuro a by jon taylor, on Flickr

Great pics again John :)

OLE still looking good  I still remember seeing it forsale online when it had 19k miles on it and the price it was advertised for :)

I do like an old Triumph and the Rover P6. I had Stag back in 2003, my first taste of classics although it was a pretty unreliable piece of crap. Saying that I would still like a well sorted one!

Having had the newer Mustang, you can't beat the older american muscle cars, and in hindsight maybe that's what I should have had albeit getting used to LHD again :drive:

In the late 80s I test drove a black Manta GTE Hatchback (I often used to drive around dealers on a Sunday afternoon asking to test drive something I fancied usually with no intention of buying  ) as much as I liked it and wanted to own it, it didn't go as well as the XR3i that I had at the time and left me underwhelmed so I left it.

Great photos as always, John.
Your Capri is looking as stunning as always, the usual bucket of water has worked wonders after your recent exploits!
It looks like you've discovered a brilliant meet here, I can't believe the high standard of cars that make the effort to attend in the middle of winter. That Silver Ghost must have attracted a lot of attention.

Andrew.
