Straightening my bendy
Straightening my bendy
..any good ideas about straightening a warped rocker cover effectively? I bought a rubber rocker cover gasket last year and whilst it's great at being a gasket, it sticks to the cylinder head exhaust side and you basically have to butcher the rocker cover to get the bloody thing off.

You could do with some 1/3" square bar so you can put a piece either side and crush it back into shape in a vice, preferably or a mole wrench, possibly?

Re: Straightening my bendy
Once the metal has stretched ,which it must have if its buckled out of shape , its nearly impossible to un-stretch . Probly easier to just get another cover . If we are talking pinto motor ,so many of them have been wreaked ( being as how they are the worst motor in the world Jason ) they must be stacked up pretty high by now . Any how , I believe Nick may have one he's not using
Shame about the gasket sticking so bad . Maybe a smear of hi temp grease ,like copperslip might help stop sticking .

I'm pleased I've only ever used the traditional cork ones, those from CCI seem great.
Good luck with it though Tom.

Re: Straightening my bendy
I only tried a rubber one because I thought it would help with the leak I had due to a warped cover in the first place it worked great until it came to checking valvev clearances and couldnt get it off!

Things like this are good . I gave a small base guitar amp to some guy on the hunting and fishing website I post on , Di's brother gave it to me , beats me why as the only musical instrument I play is the stereo . Easy come easy go .
My friend gave me his left over lounge flooring wood , which was enough to do my kitchen .....so it works out
