CRaP 2021/2022

Post by Admin »

As interested users know we had to cancel CRaP last year and delay this year's event due to Covid. There was a hope that we Could arrange a delayed event for this year as restrictions lifted. Despite sending an email to Steve at the pub a month ago asking about reopening there has been no response. Google searches suggest the pub is 'temporarily closed' and the website has gone so it doesn't look too promising. Camping looks like it might be ongoing but the consensus seems to be that we want a pub as well.
There are one or two other pubs in the same general area with camping but we would need to make enquiries and would also need a few people interested to make it worth checking somewhere new. Therefore, unless anyone has a good alternative it seems CRaP 2021 is off.
So, what about next year? Do we wait a while and see if Crosskeys reopens, do we give somewhere else a try if enough people are interested or do we give up, which seems a shame.
Any thoughts welcome.

It would be a shame not to have CRaP for two years in a row, and personally considering the amount that (at least I) usually ends up being consumed around a BBQ up by the tents I could easily live without the pub but appreciate that it is a nice thing to have nearby.

Personally, I'd go anywhere it is being held if it's on because it's always a good weekend away

Yes it would be a tragedy not to have CRaP this year if we can do it. Pub is a bonus but not a necessity for me either. Lets do it!

We have a local big 2 day event with camping, no pub nearby and people manage there ok so don't see why it should affect you at this event.

As many other shows are being cancelled pity if this went as well especially for those interested.

Wholeheartedly agree Andy but last time this was mentioned only about 4 of us showed any interest

Use it or lose it really.

It is a shame we can't get more people coming, it's the most chilled weekend of just getting as leathered as possible surrounded by like minded people and is always a great laugh

I would pop by, but I'm very boring and not really one for socialising.

I used to tell myself that until I went the first time 😉
Of course it was a lot closer to find out that it was definitely worth going.

To be honest Andrew I thought the same thing, turns out you can just ignore Tom (and everyone else) if you wanted to!

I was the same, didn't see the point and was quite apathetic about it until I first turned up :) it's a lovely weekend.

I emailed the campsite through their official booking form last Friday asking specifically about pitches for the last weekend this month. I've not had any response at all so its not looking good.
Getting a bit late in the year to organise camping somewhere else now but if anyone has any other suggestions please pitch in.

Is it just a question of finding a campsite willing to take us?

In part Tom but we also need willing participants!
