This is on the back of my spare engine. I take it to be from an auto but I assume the ring gear is the same - it looks it to me.

It does look like it i know it has 138 teeth and flywheel location size is 10.5", is that ring welded to the flywheel? could just be the picture,

If it's from an auto then I think it's more likely to be the flexplate that goes between that and the gearbox - I spent forever looking for one last year and they're like rocking horse :turd:

Pretty sure you're sat on a flexplate worth a pretty penny there Peter!

I only paid £35 quid for mine last year

I think Summit had starter rings for sale. You just need to know dimensions.

Blimey Dan, that's more than I paid for the engine! Might need to flog it then😄 Thanks for that.

They are crazy money because they are a bloody nightmare to get hold of. Mine had some slight wear on the edges so had to be changed and I shit thee not - three months it took me to find one. Tried every gearbox specialist, scrap yard and ditch I could find and just by chance I saw a guy selling an entire engine on ebay with one on the back of it so asked him to take it off and sell it to me which he duly did

Not sure how much there is for a demand for them - I would imagine not very often seeing as they are only for the C3 autos, not even sure if it is interchangeable with the pinto/v6 without checking the part numbers but would assume they are probably different based on the fact that the one I linked has a different part number compared to mine though could be because it is for the Cologne but may still fit both the essex and pinto? No idea.

Either way, I call first dibs - I'll even take my finders fee for a buyer (usually £149.99) off your asking price of £150 ;)

Same one fits for Mustang II and Bronco

It's a 138. I bet it would cost a fair bit on shipping to get a flywheel from america but i'll see if i can use the part number and se if there is one in UK, thank you.
