The Masked Singer

Post by stevemarl »

The masked singer: why? What am I missing? I see this occasionally and it just doesn`t make any sense, it`s just pointless, lots of noise and flashing lights. Not funny, not musical, and why would anyone care???? Reminds me of something they`d have done, briefly, on TISWAS - but that might have worked in the context of a silly kids programme! Please, help me understand?

It's beyond me too Steve, along with BGT and Dancing on Ice  I'm not a fan of any of these so called celebrities that are on these shows, and would rather watch paint dry!

In general TV is bloody awful most of the time :?

TISWAS was great :) I don't think kids nowadays could cope with the Phantom Flan Flinger :crying: :crying:

I guessed Morten Harket easily enough, beats me that the panel of experts just can't guess who they are, all you have to do is listen!

Seems to be very popular. But I agree that it is pretty dismal, give me 60's/70's/80's TV any day.

I`ll go out on a limb and say I used to find Strictly... tolerable. Dance amazes me though as does anything involving co-ordination. My mum & dad used to watch it, but they were of that generation, they`d done the foxtrot, waltz etc. They don`t dance anymore, what with being dead, but I did get to quite enjoy watching that with them sometimes.

I can watch women dance but I find it creepy when men do it, maybe I have something in my subconscience :?

But this is perfectly acceptable and should be encouraged  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQfidTOTsLo

I can sort of see the reason behind The Masked Singer if the unidentified person is not usually known for their singing ability. Then it's a pleasant surprise when they are revealed. But what's the point of singers being on the show? We already know that they can sing! Or am I missing the point?

Andrew.
