Steve's new book
Since you lot are into Lasers and not the cursed V6 Capri...
As you may have seen I spent my Covid summer writing another book – Secret Fords. I'll be honest I'd planned to leave the Capri out of it as I'd just written two books and had nothing left to write. But no, I was wrong. Ford gave me access to the Ghia archives and I discovered five of their Capris that were never seen at the main Ford studios. One was a real head-spinner, this Sierra-derived Capri that is sure to attract lovers and haters.
What might be of interest here is I received about 7-8 photos of the Capri Laer prototypes – one, badged as 2.8 Laser was an Injection and the other, a silver car shows the interior with Escort seats, Injection trim and Strobe S rear seats, a real mix. But so everyone's clear that's only in the Collector's Edition – just so nobody gets the wrong version!
More on the book here - last time I'll write on Capri chaps, I promise.

Yup – I was surprised to see the 2.8 Laser. The pic of the interior of the prototype pretty cool too.Andrew 2.8i wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 8:01 am A 2.8 Laser? It looks like the people we talk to at car shows were right after all !

That yellow Escort looks worryingly like an Opel Kadett

Re: Steve's new book
Funny you should mention that as I was thinking that the white one looks like a Mk1 Cavalier Sportshatch.
Have you accidentally discovered that a GM designer was moonlighting at Ford?
Andrew.
