If that was 106k miles, that car did alot of miles in 2 years :o Might have been a clock change?

Was definitely a clock change, all their cars had 0-10 miles & one of those stickers. They were mostly ex rep mobiles with prices about 2/3 of the average. The owner got around it with one of those stickers. He sold cars by the barrel load and retired in the '90s a very rich man 8-)

Those door edge rubber bump stops were popular too.

I think alot of 'car dealers' got rich over the years with dodgy tricks :?

Those door rubbers were a good idea but water trap, Needed to remove them to keep the area clean and dry

Good marketing , invent some useless piece of crap and then convince people they can't live without it, like some if the exercise equipment for sale now

Didn't not the nine o'clock news do a parody of kids coming out of the Cumbrian nuclear processing plant glowing like that and the slogan was "Windscale Flakes make your kids glow in the dark".

Windscale is now Sellafield for those that don't remember.

I never ate ready Brek, mum made real whole oat porridge instead and I still prefer that now, but with a couple of spoonfuls of sugar on it.

Ready Brek - good one Nick. You know that an advertisement is supreme when it makes it into the public psyche. Even now, decades later, when someone mentions Ready Brek you will hear comments like 'you will be glowing when you go outside'.

We never had cool stuff like that as kids , poxy Domino's ,drafts and pick up sticks ....oh and spirograph if you were spoilt , I had a bow and arrow that mysteriously disappeared when I got to be to good a shot for my brothers safety, and I did have a near full size plastic 303 but that also dissappeared when I scared the living shit out of the nieboughs ,and I broke Dads golf umbrella parashooting off the fence ,and then I got my arse kicked again when my brother broke his collar bone after recieving parashooting lessons from me .....willy hunt ......he later confessed (under extreme duress) to poking holes in the new sofa with a knitting needle......yeah ,that was me too ........never thought I would see a hearth brush disintegrate after just one beating .......willy hunt I think the old man only let up coz he nearly dislocated his shoulder ....fuck he was livid .....and I still haven't fessed up to that one, Im saving that till the old boys on his death bed.....and my brother is somewhere else

What a Lee Enfield? The toy guns in the 80s were awesome.

As you say... the beatings were too, that ice cold fear descending on you when you broke something is something I'll always remember 😯

That's brilliant Danny, there is still hope for the future of our world! :) I thought proper toys were a thing of the past for many.
