Hazard Warning Lights

Post by josh7 »

Good afternoon!

I am wondering whether someone can recommend some good retro-fit hazard warning lights for the mk1 Capri? It does not appear that mine is fitted with them - presumably they were not fitted from factory on all Capris.

For context, I own a 1972 1.6 XL.

Any guidance on where to find a hazard warning lights system, or even an alternative suggestion, would be fantastic! I'd feel a little safer breaking down on one of these new 'smart' motorways with at least the benefit of hazards :drive:

Thanks all,

Josh

Triumph 1200 Tiger XCA instead... Now also gone.
Tiger XRT instead... No, gone too...
BMW R1250RS Exec... Try this one out (old man syndrome).

Hi Josh,

There are a few options out there for you, I use this company quite a lot and have always found them very helpful,
https://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/illumina ... -unit.html

Then there is the Moss site...
https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/hazard-wa ... ss159.html
you would possibly need to change the connectors to suit the Capri, but this will still work.

then of course there's
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HAZARD-WARNI ... Swxp9W6Cgw

But you take your chances here... I hope this helps? Best of luck, cheers,

John...

TBH, we have a load of `Smart` (???) motorways up here and I now have one of these in each of the cars because the thought of sitting for 20+ minutes in a live lane scares me :!: . This sits on the dash (or has suckers for roof) is extremely bright, and will cycle through about 20 different strobe patterns.

Edit: just occurred to me - you may not even have a cig lighter in `72? Still, that`s an easier fit than hazards.

Why not ask Martin at CapriGear if he has something from a later model Capri, then it would very much be in keeping with your car, as opposed to a new modern option.
