A bit harsh we would suggest. The forum collectively was asked for advice on a car advertised for sale in the public domain and appear to have provided some fairly accurate observations. Exchanging knowledge on Capri related topics is basically why the forum was created many years ago.

In Rumone's defence there is a post in the for sale section and it's not a short one and seems in depth enough about being re-built

You are right- never realised it was the same car as Oilburner was referring to something on car and classic's site rather than here. Rumone has done everything right then.
Ive tried removing my last post but its not letting me so have reported it for deletion. Can you edit out the quote now also ?

Re: How do I check 2.8 is factory original
I did post that link on the first page of this thread 8th post down, so hopefully Oilburner saw that.
Re: How do I check 2.8 is factory original
Yes I did see the link on this site
I referred to the other site as it had the under bonnet photo
All I was after was some good advise on what to look for (which I did receive so thank you) not start any arguments. Apologies if my question has upset people it was a genuine request as I am looking to buy

You stated what you wanted and there is nothing wrong with that!!Oilburner wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 5:08 pm Yes I did see the link on this site

Easy to get caught out if you don't know, I admit I didn't notice some of the points mentioned.
End of the day Rumone sold the car and his buyer was happy, I hope you find something too
Post links to anything you fancy for more advice I'm sure....
Re: How do I check 2.8 is factory original
But if you've advertised a car on a forum and then a big discussion about said car starts up on the same forum, would you not pitch up straight away and say something?
Or have you just used the forum for free advertising and not bothered to frequent any other parts of it?
Either way, waiting until it's all over then coming on here for a rant is a bit of a daft thing to do.
Hell, you're that blase about the forum you didn't even 'rant'n'rave' in the right section.
Cheerio

Had the same thing with the mother in law , I tried selling her on a ladyboy / aficionados web site and I nearly got the deal done for two goats and a jar of honey but they asked for a picture. trust me I was pushing my luck , the witch doctor who was going to buy her ended up sending me a book of luncheon vouchers for waisting my time . So there’s always a way toward .
Ps she’s still for sale .
