Paul,
it should be just an M8. (Going off the 13mm head) I can check thread later?
Edit: it is just a standard M8 bolt, coarse (1.25mm pitch), 30mm long. If you want I can send you one this afto?

Thanks for response Steve. I have tried a couple of standard bolts which I have but nothing seemed 'right' so was just going to pop to the hardware shop if I could ascertain what it should be to see if they had any.

Edit: just seen your edit :) If you are sure you don't mind Steve that would be magic, thanks! No rush.

Yep, I`ll get that off now. (It could be that the captive nut has been corroded or cross-threaded in the past, in which case it may need `chasing` with a tap? I`ll lend you a tap in case, should be able to grip with pliers, if it`s too tricky, a holder will only be a couple of quid on ebay. )

I do have a tap & die set so I should be ok with that, but thanks Steve. Yes I did think it may be gunked up, will see when I try the proper size bolt now :)

When you finally fit the new bolt run a bit of Copperslip around the threads to stop it rusting up again when you go to remove it.

Thank you Paul, good advice as always. Actually I am fitting a little something else to one of the spare holes, but yes copper grease is great advice, do that a lot.

That`s good! I was thinking maybe Marple, Sunday, as could be last chance before it really sets in? I`ll mail later. (always assuming it`s even open?)
