I remember seeing that at the local cinema when it came out. Double bill with the original Alien

Double bills, perhaps I should add that to Paul's who remembers thread!

Amazing to think of peeps smoking inside a cinema at all . Things got a bit crazy here when smoking was banned in pubs , the publican would then build an outdoor smoking area for the users to kill themselves in inclement weather ......and then the fun police called it a building and banned smoking in them too . And the Cigar club , formed by cigar smokers, 50 or so years ago, so they could pong up without annoying others were banned from smoking in their own private members club house.
The hospitals have butt bins attached to the posts that hold up the "no smoking on hospital property " signs( with threat of prosecution if you did ) in various outdoor areas.... with seats to sit on .
One of my brothers friends gave up a free trip to America because she couldnt go without a fag for the duration of the flight.

Yes smoking is not a thing to do now , but it’s been replaced with Vaping , what’s like a old steam train smoke when you see them . I bought one a few years ago as a joke I tried this out with my son and it almost killed us .

TBH, there`s a danger that vaping is just going to replace one problem with another, OK you remove the carcinogens in tar, but you still have the nicotine and all the problems that may cause (cos it`s never really been studied) - only now it`s seen as safe so it`s almost encouraged. A drug with no downside?

Holly Middlekauff, a cardiologist at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. “Nicotine itself hasn’t been largely studied compared to nothing,” she says. “We better be darned sure that it’s not the nicotine that’s triggering heart attacks — and that I don’t know.”

Her lab is trying to find out by analyzing the electrical activity of people’s hearts after they puff on an e-cigarette with nicotine, an e-cigarette without nicotine, or an empty vape. The researchers were looking for a pattern of heart rate variability that’s been linked with cardiovascular events like heart attacks and sudden death. And they saw that pattern emerge only when the study participants vaped the e-cigarettes with nicotine, according to a paper published in the Journal of the American Heart Association in 2017.

It's not too bad around here. Certainly not as windy as it was last week.
I hope you and all the other forum people are keeping safe and well too.
