Tickover Part 4 + 5
Hi all,
Well the date has finally been set. B112 goes off to Tickover week commencing Mon Jan 27th. !!!!!
They got the head back from engineers just before Christmas so all systems are go....
Head modified - Unleaded, Ported, Big Valves, Kent FR32 fast road cam uprated springs etc, Weber Twin Carb 45s fitted with a manual choke set up. Got the throttle cables running ftom the bulkhead end of the carbs so much neater in the engine bay. The choke I reckon will be fitted in that 'plugged hole' just under the steering wheel to the left.
Brakes upgraded. Hi Spec 283mm vented discs with 4 pots Black calipers , New front alloy hubs BLACK with new bearings/wheel studs. I am replacing the servo with a 2.8i one Martin supplied that will be blasted and painted by Tickover before being fitted with an uprated large bore master cylinder
I have bought a few other bits and bobs to fit which will really compliment the mods I am getting done and give the engine bay a new look. I am also going to fit 205 tyres all round but this can wait till the end of the month.
So B112 is certainly going to look a tad different, drive a tad different and certainly sound a tad different.!!
It's really happening... and very soon too.... Exciting start to the New Year
All the best
Nick

You're not kidding! All those mods sound really good and should make B112 into the perfect Capri. As if it wasn't to begin with!

Interesting engine mods, many do the FR32 cam without the valve enlargement, be interested to know what sort of increase it delivers?

You don’t know how lucky you are. Whenever I need anything for my Capri my wife moans it’s just a waste of money, sell it is her favourite saying. Yep, she’s adorable.
But, mine is going in soon as well! Not to tickover but back to Mario.
Having the small rust patches cut out and replaced. Bit of fresh paint here and there and possibly a bit of polish
I also want to change the hoses to silicone ones if I get a chance.
Now, here’s where your lucky bit comes in.
I’ve had to sell my Sierra to pay for it! Otherwise it wouldn’t be getting done. Yes, my wife’s an angel.
Anyway, can’t wait to see yours once it’s done, sounds like an amazing transformation.
And a happy new year!

Yep I've heard the std 32/36 dgav is good for 135bhp with a stage one head fitted with an fr32 so with more of a stage two set up with the 45s I should be expecting a bit more.!!!
Tickover have set up loads of Pintos so I know it's in good hands with Clive and Gus.. I will at some stage get it onto a rolling road to get proper numbers and then if any tweaking is needed to get it fine tuned but Clive said he will have it set up well enough for me to like it !!!!

Re: Tickover Part 4 + 5
Thanks Steve ! Mate I have had a few very lucky breaks the last few months with PPI and bonuses at work plus a coiuple of other things, and with a bit of saving on the side I can get all this done at once. TBH I was only planning originally to get the head modified with a cam retaining the 32/36 dgav for now then adding the 45s and Hi Spec Brakes at a later time next year so as I had this bit of good fortune I though might as well go for it now...you only live once !!!Stish704 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 8:18 am You don’t know how lucky you are. No Need for such extreme measures Nick. Just print this off and leave it lying about on the coffee table for Mrs F. to find.....Fordoholic Nick wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 5:27 pm Andrew I bought myself a little pressie for Christmas to store my receipts for B112....
