That looks great Nick, wouldn't mind one of these magazines myself. Brilliant that they've put this together.

Yes Rob, reckon there will be some brilliant pictures mate. I really like this sort of thing and decent price for 100 pages!! They say shops might have them on the shelf but to be sure I dont miss it I ordered it online :)

Great stuff. Love CCW very cheap and one of the best publications out there. The old photos are brilliant. 👍

I've just noticed that a town near me, Lampeter, is featured in Nick's first photo.
How that same street is now, as seen on Google Streetview.

I much prefer the early pic, when cars didn't all look the same and pedestrians didn't have mobile phones :woot:

Looks like the sun was out too due to the hot summer that year :)

Very true, Andy!
Your comment got me thinking about the good old days. When I was a young boy, I could easily identify a car from the smallest of details, and I'm sure a lot of the people here on the forum could do the same. Now I often can't identify a new car until I'm close enough to read the badges.

To prove the point that leads me neatly to car bore quiz time! Who's up for it?

Here are the headlights from a classic car and a modern car. The classic is easy to identify, but just what is that modern car?

Modern car:

Any guesses? Does anybody care?

Hi Andy,
You're right about the first car. Your guess with the second proves your point about modern cars looking the same! :D
Any more guesses?

Knew I would be wrong :) But it could be a handfull of Fords or something completely different. Tbh I'm bored just thinking about it.

Only car I like that is fairly new in the UK is the V8 Mustang, anything else doesn't bother me at all.

You're both on the right track, it is a Ford. A Kuga.

I think I know what you mean.

The Cougar (Puma concolor) is a large felid of the subfamily Felinae, native to the Americas.
