'Christmas' meet
Some years ago we did a couple of forum meets nearish to Christmas but then knocked it on the head due to lack of interest. Following Brooklands there seems to be a few people saying we need to meet up somewhere as we didn't get enough time to have a chat on the day. This has made me wonder if there is any call for a revival.
Previously we organised a meal somewhere on a Saturday night followed by a few beers, everyone stopped overnight nearby and went home next day.
From the people who have talked of meeting I guess we are looking at the M4 corridor area. I know many Capris are off the road by December so this would be a social thing not a car event.
Is there any genuine interest?

This sounds a great idea Peter. I would deffo be interested but my problem is I am stuffed with working a lot of weekends but if it could be tailored a tad to suit my rest days and of course suits everyone else then yep I would be up for this mate.Peter-S wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 9:48 pm Some years ago we did a couple of forum meets nearish to Christmas but then knocked it on the head due to lack of interest. Re: 'Christmas' meet
Great idea. However, the difficulty with organising this sort of meet is that the forum members are spread all around the country and they all have work/family commitments. Trying to find a date when everyone is available combined with a location that is acceptable for everybody will be nigh on impossible.
It might be a better idea for forum members to organise something with members in their vicinity. Obviously, such a meet should be open to all, if somebody is willing to travel a greater distance they are free to attend a meet further away.
Provisionally, I would be interested in a meet. To be honest though, I'd prefer a daytime meet for a few hours at a seaside café, that kind of thing.
Or maybe even combine the meeting-up with a fun activity, like karting.
Andrew.

The difficulties you mention are why I've suggested a general location to sound people out but if there is not much interest I'm not going to push it.

For what it's worth - if someone does arrange something let me know as it sounds good to me and I don't mind travelling

Re: 'Christmas' meet
The karting thing was only a suggestion, but thinking about it, it wouldn't be suitable as we'll have to do something that everybody can participate in.

Re: 'Christmas' meet
For those that can't do the Haynes Breakfast Meet, I think we should all do our best to attend Capri National Day as an annual get together, albeit it usually clashes with a local show for Nige and myself.
Thoughts???

Not a bad shout Andy, another alternative...
I've heard of a great camping event around the same time as the CCI national, little place in Molesworth near Cambridge - lovely little place....
