Haynes Breakfast Meet August 2019
As some of you will be aware, Andy, Neil and I met up at the excellent Haynes breakfast meet. Here are a few select photos from that event.
Andy's stunning car
Neil's equally stunning car
And my car makes a third A reg 2.8!
A few other Capris also turned up
This car was also at The Ace last year
Lee (Mark's son) owns Mark's old 280
Another 2.8
The last Capri, a 1.6 GL
Here are a few other nice Fords, starting with an XR2
Some amazing mark 2 Escorts
This one, to be honest, looks a little tatty but packs a punch with it's 2.5 from a Focus ST (I think)
Mark's rather nice XR4x4
Granada Estate
A couple of great looking mark 1 Escorts
and a mark 1 Fiesta
Some nice Mustangs
Including this new-fangled Bullitt special edition
Crayford Corsair
As you can see, there were loads of other amazing cars there - far too many to upload photos, sadly. I'll leave you with Hayne's own Capri exhibit
I hope that you enjoyed looking through the photos of this highly recommended show.
Andrew.

Re: Haynes Breakfast Meet August 2019
Thanks Andy, I'll watch that video later. I've only watched the first few seconds, but it's interesting to see that the video is filmed from so far back. Am I reading too much into it, have the marshals stopped people filming outside the gates to try and clamp down on the showboating from the drivers who are leaving? If so, that seems like a good idea.andyd wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 6:47 pm Thought I would add this too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG_wR0_vQ7c Capris at 00.10, 10.55 and Mark, 13.15, 1930 and 23.20
Yes, the museum was great, thanks!

I didn't see Kieran filming from there when I left, but there was someone with a camera stood closer to the gate but still inside.Andrew 2.8i wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 7:06 pmThanks Andy, I'll watch that video later. I think they have stopped filming outside which I agree is a good idea.
If you only do it once, the museum is definately worth a look around when you are there

If any
Yes, it's a great meet, although it is big. It's quite hard to get around and see everything before people start leaving.
Andrew.

Yes, the ticket does last 12 months. That's lucky as I didn't have time to really take it all in and look at everything. The museum alone needs a whole day. It's very good though, some very nice cars and some interesting motoring paraphernalia.Jasonmarie wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 7:50 pm I do believe that the ticket for the museum last a year don’t know my legs could do all of it then but a good excuse for a meet up next year

Hi Andrew,
Wow! The forum Capris look absolutely stunning mate . Great pictures of them all. Really good to see Neil's superb 2.8i out and and about. Seems like ages I last seen him but it was The Ace last year. And of course great to see Marks son Lee with his 280 too. Not seen this for a while either. And Andys Red Injection really does look amazing. Can't wait to see it in the flesh. And of course your immaculate Injection too Andrew. Always looks amazing. All your Capris are proper credit to you all. STUNNING !!! Bet you all got loads of attention. Looks a cracking show does this but bit of a drive for me for breakfast altbough methinks me and Jason need to 'inject' some Pinto Power to the line up some time
Really enjoyed looking through the pictutes mate. Tne other Ford's were stunning too. Those Escort RS2000's are beauties as nd I do love a decent Mk1 Fiesta, always liked them
Glad you all had a great morning and good catch up. Hope to see you all at Brooklands on the Forum Stand
All the best
Nick

Yes, it's a great day out, although it's a bit of a trek for me too. I wouldn't want to go there every month but once or twice a year is manageable.
The few times I have been to Haynes it's been an absolutely cracking show.
Andrew.

Yes it was a great meet, as were the others at Haynes that we've been to. Although I've only been to the meet three times, most of the cars at each visit have not been seen at the other meets and that keeps it exciting and fresh. Thanks to Andy's great planning we got a great spot and we all parked together.
The museum is definitely worth a look around. I've been meaning to have a look around for some time, so I'm glad I finally got around to actually going inside for more than just using the toilet! At £15 each, admission might possibly be a bit steep, but it's only a little more than the British Motor Museum at Gaydon. If you just want to look at the cars that interest you, you can easily get around in a couple of hours. However, if you wish to study each car and all the motoring paraphernalia in great detail, it's probably best to make a special trip and spend the whole day there. It's a nicely set up museum which is split into several themed sections for easy navigation.
Andrew.

Thank you Peter!
The breakfast meet is a great way to spend a Sunday morning every now and again. The museum is also definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in the area with a few hours to spare.
