Killerton House Classic Car Show.

Post by Brooksy »

Andy and I took our Capri's to Killerton House Classic Car Show today. :lowrider: Had a great time and approx 500 cars attended. Lovely weather and good company and atmosphere too. The XROC gazebo provided some welcome shade and hosted some proper classic car chat too! Photos to follow!

Thanks Andrew.
As Nige said a great day, our cars were very poular, along with good weather and many other great cars :D

Only a 20 mile round trip for me but still tired....How can eating and looking at cars be such hard work

I bet they attracted loads of attention, and rightly so. Were there many other Capris there?

A Mk1 3 litre pre facelift and a Consul Capri were the only others there, both were beauties.

Here's some pics.
Andy's red 2.8i looked stunning as always (first time our Capri's have been at a show together). Also, other XROC members cars were equally well turned out. I'll try and upload some more tomorrow buy my broadband speed is down to 6 mbps so I'm at my wits end. :banghead: Image

I'd kill for 6 mbps! If the download speed here reaches 4 mbps I'm having a good day!
Thanks for uploading the photos Nige, both Capris look stunning and from what I've seen of them the XROC cars are equally good.
The weather does indeed look superb too! :D

Cheers for the pictures Nige. Yours & Andy’s looking great in the sun. XR club cars well presented too, still loving that super sport!

Cheers Rob and yes they were all looking great. Agree, that Super Sport is amazing.

I'll try and upload some more pics tomorrow; had enough tonight. Blighted by slow and unreliable down load speed/connection and keep losing my thread, hence a few posts.

Thanks Andy. The mark 1 looks great, but I've never been a fan of the Consul Capri.

Funny how the mk1 has its own following as I do love them and I think we would all have one in our man caves .

The old guy has owned this one since 1974. He told me it's done over 160,000 miles, but restored to mint condition some years ago.

Both of our cars drew some attention Jason, which was great; I saw lots admiring Andy's

My 13 yr old daughter came along for the morning too. She likes old cars too and enjoyed having a look around. I was a proud Dad and flattered she wanted to come along.

As you say, the Brooklands 50th should be amazing. Just hope the weather is good.

Again, big congrats to you all; just shows the high standard of all your cars. :applaud:
