Fuse 6 keeps blowing

Post by pyramidls »

Hello,

Ive got a puzzling problem with the wiring on my 2.0s

Fuse 6 keeps blowing when the ignition is turned on.
As far as I know I have disconnected all the things that are on that circuit-wiper motor, wiper stalk, rear wiper reverse lights, rear washer switch etc. I have also taken the rear light clusters out, but the fuse keeps blowing.

I am at quite a loss here and would appreciate any help/ideas here. I need to get this sorted so that I can get it mot'ed.

Thanks

Neil

I had a similar problem last year on a 2.8i. As I remember, it was a problem with the rear wiper. I disconnected the wiring from the left side tailgate damper and that stopped the fuse blowing. I ended up replacing the wiring for the wiper motor.

The problem with fuses blowing is that it can be a live that is earthing before it reaches the wipers, lights etc. Have you had anything apart where you may have trapped a wire when putting it all back together such as the carpet retainer on the driver's side.
