Re: Exhaust dilema
You can still source original size pipes, if you went mild steel you can get a sportex which is pretty common and most people have them, a lot of the V6 guys have Janspeed stainless exhausts which seem easy enough to come by, but being a pinto boy I discovered the struggle of trying to find a stainless kit anywhere - they seem to only be made for early escorts so I'm having one custom made.
Had the manifold done at the end of last year for £450 and powerflow can do the rest for around £300 or so...
Not cheap!

Personally if I owned your car, I would get a nice custom made stainless system to original look and sound.

Re: Exhaust dilema
I opted for a standard replacement system when I did mine. Still available (from Klarius), was around £90 for the whole system from manifold to tailpipe, and that included brackets and delivery. Gives a lovely sound too, very happy with it actually.
So if you wish to keep as original as possible as you mention (as I do also), that's the way to go I think.

Re: Exhaust dilema
As Paul said, standard parts are available (on ebay especially) and the cheapest.
Only thing is cars that aren't used regularly tend to go through exhausts quicker hence my stainless option, but you should still get quite a few years from mildsteel.

Re: Exhaust dilema
At £90 for a standard system I'd buy 2 (In fact I might and put them in the lockup). Should last you 10 years plus and it is as close to original as you're gonna get.

Exactly. I really can't understand why people don't just get one, simple and no hassle. Very impressed with mine, great sound for those interested in that sort of thing. And he did mention that he wanted to keep it original too in the first post.340truck wrote:At £90 for a standard system I'd buy 2 (In fact I might and put them in the lockup). Re: Exhaust dilema
Frustrating isn't it, I've had a lot of parcels arrived with damage, from various places, Amazon seem to be one of the worse, although they are very good at sorting it out. Hoping you get your replacements without fuss.
Re: Exhaust dilema
That's a blooming good price right there, it's a shame that one part came damaged, the courier probably used it to play warehouse baseball
Re: Exhaust dilema
Update Andrew ( technical department at Klarius is more than happy to help) new parts hand picked and wrapped ready for dispatch Europarts can then attempt to deliver without clumsy courier damage let’s see what happens this time !
I know this is only an exhaust but this car deserves to have good quality parts when needed not sub standard parts !
If you think I’m being over picky on an exhaust please tell me I just want it to be right as it deserves!
Kind regards

Re: Exhaust dilema
You are buying a new item and it should be such. It wouldn't be on their shelf if damaged, so imo a careless courier.B7ADA wrote:Update Andrew ( technical department at Klarius is more than happy to help) new parts hand picked and wrapped ready for dispatch Europarts can then attempt to deliver without clumsy courier damage let’s see what happens this time !
