Rocker cover for a 2lt Laser

Post by Mk3CortinaCapri »

As my Capri currently has a K&N air filter and a sierra rocker cover, would this be the right rocker cover if I wanted to put it back to an original appearance. Only bit I'm not sure about is the bracket on the top

Currently full up and no more space but I still want a 2.8...

I think we figured out at Brooklands once that the bracket on the top is for one of the hoses to the heater matrix in the bulkhead, but think it only applies to manual choke carbs? Think auto chokes are laid out differently and don't have the bracket on top....?

Arh, okay, that makes sense. So the auto choke ones don't have this bracket

That’s the wrong rocker cover if you want to use the old style air filter . As the two brackets are not there also the top bracket is as dan says for a manual choke . I also think ours are wider ? Peter will know .

i cant remember when they changed but the later Pinto rocker covers were wider than the early ones and I think the cork gaskets were different for the 2 types.

I believe it was 1982 or thereabouts, and the two gaskets are different.
