Rush hour with a twist....

Post by Fordoholic Nick »

Hi all,

Well this evening I got B112 out for a nice little drive as it was lovely evening...by lovely I mean dry !!

Yep I just had the urge to go for out a drive albeit in the middle of the rush hour traffic. Even had to use my quad lights too. John will be proud of me  Could not resist a couple of pics...

Started off just as the light was fading with the four side quads on...

And ended up with four dipped on in the dark...

I am very tempted to fit some led side light bulbs to give B112 a sharper whiter glow rather than the yellow. At least just to see if I like them. I don't mind the yellow glow but reckon the modern white look will work well with the four quads :)

Anyhow nothing too exciting but watch this space

All the best

Nick

Hi Nick,
As ever the quads look superb.
I can see you line of thinking with regards to the LED sidelights. For what they cost it's worth a try.
Those headlights do look bright white when compared to the sidelights, what bulbs have you got in them?
The sidelights look like those French car headlights from the 80s with the yellow glow....oh la la! :)

Andrew the headlights have Osram Nightbreaker Bulbs mate. They aren't cheap but are amazing !! John put me onto them.

Yep I reckon white leds will deffo give the side lights a more modern twist although in the pics I took they do look much more 'french 80's yellow' than in the flesh

Cheers Andrew

Rush hour :o
Actually, when I have been caught in traffic usually on the way back from a car show, it's never as bad as you imagine but always glad to get moving and get home.
Your car is looking good

It's strange to see all the garage doors are white :?

Thanks Andy :)

Yep they repainted the garage doors a while back. They were Blue before but the residents association decided to brighten the garage blocks up and whilst at first I thought White was a strange choice fair play to them it does work. At night the garages are lit up but the white does make it brighter.

Recently repainted ours Navy Blue. The Mrs suggested red to match the Capri :headscratch: I said it will look like a Fire Station from the road :)

Our first flat we lived in quite a few yrs ago came with an en-bloc garage and they were all painted Green. One day I went out and painted mine bright red...caused a bit of a stir but as the stupud fuckers would not repaint the peeling doors as they were so tight I made a stand and did mine myself therefore chose to do it Red with White frames. It looked very nice Andy. Your Wife is not wrong mate. Go on....paint it Red mate

Thanks Rob. John fitted them to his and really raved about them. After seeing them for myself on his Capri i just had to get them as well especially as like John i have clear lens light units too so they really do make a big difference over the standard bulbs in the standard units but yep you will deffo notice the difference mate. They really are very good indeed mate. :)
