A couple of facts -

Did you know that the Spice Girls originally released 10 singles, and nine of those went to number 1 in the UK, the other reaching number 2.

And that they had the Christmas number one three years in a row.

Pretty phenomenal really.

Really? Do you know which two recording artists/ bands have the record for the most top 30 hits in a year (in the UK)?

I do know that a couple of groups have done that purposefully, i.e. released so many singles per month, etc. Which isn't quite organic, but I shall have to think about this, interesting trivia question that.

I would hazard an initial guess at Elvis though.

I know that both Ash and The Wedding Present did the frequent release of single thing.

Pretty sure that Ash, as popular as they were didn't have big hits though. So I will say either The Beatles or The Wedding Present. My money would be on the latter.

Well done! :D :D :D Very impressive knowledge/research.
One single a month, plus an unusual cover version on the B side!

A few acts have tried the frequent release thing, not sure why the Wedding Present actually succeeded! What was the B-side thing?

Because they are brilliant! :D
They had some truly inspired choices for the B-sides that were outside of their usual genre.

Info taken from one of Martin C. Strongs excellent reference books. A lifetime of work (this edition is 1187 pages) sadly made largely redundant by the internet. Although still highly recommended.
