What is it?

Post by Andrew 2.8i »

As is all the rage on this forum these days, I've produced a short video.
Can you guess what is in the parcel I received today?
Clue: I've really been looking forward to this arriving, and now it has I'm very happy! :D

Did you guess correctly?

About time too Andrew, it looks a great read :applaud:
Glad you’ve got it, you must have an impressive collection of Capri books by now.
Steve, if you’re reading this, I think some forum discount is in order for all the free YouTube advertising your book is enjoying :D

Hi Jason,
I've only had a quick flick through at the moment and I have not had a proper look, but just holding the book in my hands I can feel the quality.
As stated by the others in another thread, this is not a cheap quality book of the type found in The Works.

My limited edition number is 66.

Hi Rob,
I agree about the discount...
To be honest the wait was a bit of an anxious time, you never know if they're using it as a frisbee down at the parcel depot......
From what I have seen so far this looks like a great quality book. I'm looking forward to getting started on it.
Have you ordered one yet or do you have no plans to buy one?

 I was thinking the same, I'm two thirds of the beast! :D
Number 366 would have been better, but I don't know if Steve could have signed that many....

It looks a great book, well written, but I’ve got no plans to buy one. I bought Stirling Moss’s racing life book & it’s taken me 2 years to read that. I’ll be retired by the time I could finish this one :)
But if someone receives book number 281 & wants to trade I could be persuaded .. :D

That's good news, but how do you know the delivery driver has a Transit? Your book might be in a Sprinter... :D
I think you'll really like the book. Yes it is expensive, there is no denying that, but it seems to be jam packed full of greatness. And thanks to Jason's kind gesture you've got number 112 too. 8-) It doesn't get any better than that.

Well spotted Nick. The original is a brilliant song, but this is actually a cover version by Dinosaur Jr.

Morning All,
Interestingly, I've just read in the book that "The Cars You Always Promised Yourself" was printed by Gomer Press, about two miles up the road from here.

It's not turning out to be a good morning with regards to the book. Sadly, I've identified a few issues with my copy. I have, I think for the first time ever in my life, written an e-mail of complaint to the publisher. It wouldn't be fair to comment further at this stage until the publisher has had a chance to respond to my message. :( Hopefully the problems can be resolved though.

It got damaged in the post I assume, the packaging didn't look that strong to be honest. Shame that, I feel for you, it happens to me a lot.

Thanks Paul,
No, sadly it has some defects caused, I assume, at the printing/binding stage.

Ah right, ok, defective item then. Well it happens I guess, very frustrating for you though. Again, I've received items with similar issues. As good as online ordering/shopping is, it can be a real nuisance when something isn't right.
