Confident he could improve the apperance with a machine polish, he then burnt through the paint    Everytime I went to get in it it caught my eye, wishing I hadn't bothered or he said he he didn't want to sort it......Lesson learned!!
Hi Andy,
I can see why you wouldn't want to keep the Sierra. Something like that would niggle a perfectionist like you and no doubt give you some sleepless nights! Now you have a car that the good Doc has had sorted...it's a vision of perfection!
It's no real consolation, but do you get compensation friom the detailer in a situation like that?

Andrew.
Hi Andrew,
I almost asked my son to do it as he has done machine polishing etc, but that would have been worse for me if he had of done the same thing....This can go wrong quite easily if not done correctly.

The detailer was distraught as he just wanted to help and offered to pay half the repair cost a mobile painter quoted me to paint approx quarter of the roof and blend in. But he wasn't 100% sure he could do a good enough job on it which I didn't want to hear :(
I probably could have kicked up a real fuss about it but the end result would have been the same, a car with new and old paint.

That's the trouble with original paint it will be quite thin due to years of polishing etc.

Just been looking at your Capri again Andy but on the laptop with a much bigger screen. Wow ! Really is a stunner is that mate !! Re the wheels I really like it with the seven spokes but can see it looking equally as good with peppers...hope this helps

You should look into 15" Machined 4-Spokes too mate  Hope this helps as well

It really is great news that you are a Capri owner again Andy. You almost got me in :crying: too mate !!!

:agree: Amazing looking car Andy and a credit to you and the marque :o.

I always clean and hoover my own cars and although it can take ages, the results are worth it.... as you've clearly proven! :lowrider:

Missed this totally last week  . Capri looks stunning Andy :applaud:
Looking forward to seeing it next year, wheels look great against that polished red paint, will upgrade mine to 15s eventually.
Very nice mate, bet it feels like coming home, enjoy

Hi Rob,
The Pepperpots are also mint but the tyres are old, so rather than spend ££ on 13" tyres, I went for the 15" wheels as I had 4 tyres from my RS Turbo wheels

Very nice Andy.... I seem to remember this car from Facebook. The chap that restored it was trying to sell it for a bit over £20k last year.

Looks like you've got a bit of a bargain there, but I thought there would be some bargains coming through soon :D

I hope you keep it long enough to take it to the 50th.

All the best
