Re: Dash Protectors
I like old sheets as I don't have to remove half a cover if I want to get into it or open bonnet or boot. Just lift the area I want to access not causing a dust storm. Also taking 3 sheets off individually to shake off outside is easier than manhandling one big cover to do the same....Works for me, but if you prefer a cover that's all good too

Andrew you are spot on fella. The one Emma had for sale was indeed a size 4 and cost her £475 when she bought it. No wonder it got snapped up at £325 !Andrew 2.8i wrote:By my reckoning, a size 4 carcoon is the smallest that the Capri will fit in and the cheapest I can find for that size is £466 from Demon Tweeks..

Re: Dash Protectors
Also as our garage is only 2 inches longer than the Capri, it would be hard trying to get a tight cover over the back if the car was right back to the wall, or putting it on then pushing the car back hoping the cover didn't slide back off. The sheet just hangs down over

Re: Dash Protectors
Yes I can cover the car easy I think if I did get a cocoon it would and maybe hit the door as I park quite close to the door to leave room at the fron as mum and dad have a fridge and work top at the front , they only use the side door so no worry’s or going down the side . I do use cloths on the wipers so they don’t stick .
Also I have some rubbish stored down the side in plastic boxes . Also bonnet is open a little as I have the trickle charge on .
Picture of how she is now .
One funny thing I will say and nick will say “ yes thanks for reminding me “ but after a few days at Tickover it gets bloody dusty and more then it did last year in the garage . ( sorry nick )

Re: Dash Protectors
Please dont laugh at me but in the winter I have an old duvet cover I lay over the engine inside the engine bay itself. Keeps it warmer and kerps the dust off it too. Only thing is I need to renember its there before firing B112 up !!!
Andy I am lucky to have a long garage which gives me just enough room to get around it so my cover is very easy to fit/remove. I fold it up the same way all the time so when it comes to fit it it only takes a min. Mine also has wing mirror pockets and as its such a tailored fit I can just lift either the front half to open bonnet/door or back half for tailgate

When I bought my first house in 1988. I had a Marina Van to move building materials and rubbish etc, it was usually kept outside so I put a blanket over the engine one frosty night, got up the following morning and drove a mile or so and wondered why it was running rough You guessed it....Fordoholic Nick wrote:Ermmm......Andrew 2.8i wrote:Don't tell me you tuck it in at night....... .Fordoholic Nick wrote:Please dont laugh at me but in the winter I have an old duvet cover I lay over the engine

I purposely leave a bit of the duvet sticking out Andy but even then once I sat in and was about to fire it up but renembered just in time !!!

Re: Dash Protectors
Easy solution chaps, simply disconnect the battery overnight/over the winter. There's no way you can forget to remove the duvet then.

They'd make a great cover for the bonnet to protect against stonechips. They've even got the cut-outs for the headlights!Jasonmarie wrote:Good news I have a cover Marie was on the phone to her mum when I got a great thought in my mind ...................

I will have to place the Beer towels over this though.... Still greatfull for these Andy!!! As you can see I went for the plain cover as the logo would just stand out too much for me. But I do have one on the way for show days!!!! But still torn for the Beer towels!!!
Cheers,
John...
