RIP Montserrat Caballe

Post by Paul G »

Spanish opera singer who, with Freddie Mercury sang "Barcelona", one of the most beautiful Olympic Games songs ever. This was the song for for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Barcelona being her home town.

I expect the older ones of you on here will remember this song with fondness and it still brings a lump to my throat when I hear it.

It's an incredible song and she was an incredible force. I saw Queen a couple of times. Probably the greatest band ever, some of the stuff they did on their albums was amazing.
