Mercury Capri

Post by Peter-S »

Whilst I've seen the odd picture previously I've never met a third generation Mercury Capri in the flesh before - until today in a museum in Sydney.
And I must say I thought it was bloomin' ugly, especially from the back. Designed for the Yanks tho, perhaps that explains it, or maybe I'm prejudiced because of the name

According to a certain website, it's the warbirds down under show. I'm guessing that the show and Peter's visit to Oz aren't a strange coincidence........ :)

Anyone know if this version of the Mercury Capri is actually Mazda based , maybe similar to what was marketed here as the Ford Probe etc or is it based on the Ford built Fox bodied Mustang ?

There still is one in Neighbours, belongs to Piper Willis.

There - my sad secret addiction of a TV show is out!
