Hi Beakster,
As said, thanks for the work you are putting in updating the forum.

Unfortunately, I didn't suffer any of the log in issues mentioned by the others until the update. Today, I was logged out automatically, and each time I tried to log back in the forum returned to the home page, however, I was still logged out. It took 5 attempts in total. I'm using Windows 10 with Microsoft Edge, if that makes any difference.

I like the new notification and private message icon, it makes it much easier to see if there any notifications.
The Laser forum thing in the top left isn't displaying for me.

Cheers, and thanks again,

Andrew.

Hi,

I've made another update to the cookie settings which I believe was causing the problem. If you are still having issues try:

1) At the bottom of the forum click the link that says "Delete All Board Cookies".

2) Delete your chrome history. To do this click the 3 dots in the top right. Then More Tools -> Clear Browsing Data, then select All Time. Note that this will clear data for all of the sites on your computer too.

To get the laser logo back try clicking refresh on your browser whilst holding the Ctrl key. Let me know if any problems are still happening or if things are working for you now.

Thanks

I've also just reset the Cloudflare cache, which is a service we using to try to stop spammers and bots bringing the board down. It seems this can cause some issues with logins. If anyone is unable to login to reply to this post please email me directly: [email protected] and if I have to I will remove Cloudflare to see if it can fix the problem completely.

Thanks

Seems to be working much better for me know.
Pressing and holding control and then a refresh also restored the 'laser' logo

I tried everything suggested, but I still couldn't get the Laser logo to appear. Today, it has returned of it's own accord...yay! :D
I have not encountered any further issues with being logged out and not being able to log back in, so that appears to be cured too.
Thank you for providing the solutions.

Andrew.

Hi Nick,

The real hero here is Peter-S. Given that I don't have a car at the moment I'm not on here much and find myself caught up with other distractions. Peter S looks after all the admin stuff and then gives me a shout when there's a technical issue. So be sure to buy him a beer next time you see him :D

Cloudflare is a service which works like a gatekeeper for the forum. We started using it when we were getting loads of spammers attacking the forum from the south pacific. Cloudflare know about naughty servers and networks and block them from hitting the forum. They cache some of our forum data as well to make it appear faster, but this cache can go out of date, especially after an update to the forum which changes to cookie settings on the server. Clearing the cache means Cloudflare are relaying the latest cookie information which your browser sends back to the server to tell it who you are and keep you logged in. 8-)

Cheers

Hi Beakster,

Thanks for yoyr reply mate. Yep Peter really does do a tremendous job on this forum mate and have told him so but not in the form of a beer....yet

If it were not for the dedication from the likes of Peter and the admin team inc yourself then this forum would cease to exist so I am just really grateful. I have learned so much from this forum and most important made some great friends along the way :D

Cheers to all and keep up the great work

Hi Paul, i don't really follow. After you log in it asks you what username you want to use? What are the options it gives you? Can you provide a screenshot?

Thanks
