Capri Driver from France

Post by hornman »

Hi,
i'm a Capri driver, 2.8 injection Special 1985. I bought it in France in 2002, the man was an old englishman and he can't drive il, car was too low.

In 2002, Capri only had 42000 miles, now 63000 miles and is fully original.

Now it's time to change mechanical parts:
Brakes, exhaust (Janspeed in stainless), cooling, tyres, wheels reconditionned and repainted, and in the future a full paint.

Sorry, my english is poor !!!! hope you understand.

Bienvenue sur le forum.
:welcome:
C'est un très beau Capri que tu as, je l'aime beaucoup!
It will sound as good as it looks with the Janspeed exhaust.

Andrew.

Bienvenue Hornman, quelle belle Capri vous avez. Beaucoup d'aide sur cette forum si vous avez besoin.

That is the limit of my schoolboy French I'm afraid but we always have Google translate so we will be able to understand each other if there's a problem.

It was a television programme in the 80s called only fools and horses where Del Boy was a London cockney who never spoke French but made up French words . So only us mad English lot will get the joke .

I wish I did speak France so I could understand your version of wheeler dearlers as the guys did up some cracking cars . Never seen the show in France but have heard it was better then our English version .

Also perhaps you might like to join us all at nextyears Brooklands meet on the 8th September 2019 at the famous Brooklands museum . Only a thought as if your on the north side of France Will only be about 3/4 hour drive if using the eurotunnel .

Here’s the link https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com

Thanks for the explanations.

"Wheeler Dearlers" is one of my favorite TV shows, I like both in French version and in English, but mostly you learn a lot in mechanics.

I live in the west of France, Nantes, to join England it is easier by the sea from Caen to Portsmouth, on the other hand, not sure that the mechanics of my Capri is finished.

Between Rennes and Nantes in the north west of France, there is a beautiful museum called Automobile Manor.

Welcome!

We took the capri down to Pornic a couple of years ago, lovely part of the country.
