Door Striker Plate

Post by ukfpv »

O/S rear quarter - the door striker plate is secured via 4 screws to a plate with 4 threaded holes sitting behind the B pillar - this plate sits in a 'cage' behind the B pillar to stop it falling to the bottom of the rear quarter if ever the 4 screws are undone. Question - can this plate be removed from the cage somehow? I wish to get a paintless dent removal bar in via one of the 4 holes in the B pillar but can't with the plate in its 'cage'. Haven't quite got enough access to see if the plate comes out - hence my question

Thanks

The “cage” you refer to is spot welded on all sides so the threaded plate can’t come out.

Thanks for the reply - got my phone in there and as you say the 'plate' is trapped

Got an annoying pin prick of a dent - easily massaged out with a PDR tool
