Classics @ Scolton 2018
Morning All,
At the start of June I drove down to Haverfordwest for the Classics @ Scolton show. It's a great show and definitely the best in the region, in my opinion.
I stopped off on the way for a quick photo opportunity.

I only noticed afterwards that I hadn't put the front bumper back on straight after recently taking it off. Now fixed.
Now on to the actual show, and where better to start...….

Thanks Andrew,
That looked like a really good show. You seem to have some good events in Wales, pity it's a long way for me to go for the day
That 1600 Sport does look great, as does yours with that view behind it

No, there aren't many great shows in Wales that I'm aware of, only this one and Classics in Cardiff seem to attract a really good turn outs of modern classics. All the other shows are populated by the Morris Minor/Triumph Stag brigade. Nothing wrong with those cars at all, but when you've seen one you've seen them all.
Andrew.

Thank you Andrew as normal your pictures are a real pleasure to see , all the cars there seem to touch memories down to the white ford transit also the G plate Escort van as you don’t see them anymore . Also the TVR 400 that’s a rare beast I use to borrow my friends 350i and that did move .
Cant belive your bumper as that something I would never thought you would miss , I can only guess you was tried that day . And I bet all was sorted at the show .
Also weather again was with you .

Hi Jason, yes, it was an oversight, although the angle of the corner piece seems to look a lot worse in the photo than it actually was.Jasonmarie wrote:Cant belive your bumper as that something I would never thought you would miss , I can only guess you was tried that day .
Thanks, glad you enjoyed looking through them.Jasonmarie wrote:Thank you Andrew as normal your pictures are a real pleasure to see
A beautiful day with not even a hint of rain. A lot of cars were expected at the show, I think over 600 eventually turned up, but that meant that the organisers had to cram the cars close together in order for them all to fit in the showground. That can bring it's own problems with people walking around so close to the cars.....Jasonmarie wrote:Also weather again was with you .

Yes that always worry me as Andy said about the dog peeing up his wheel , and us both park up together as people seem to be all over the car with metal studs on there coats and it’s working .
I did like what some of the clubs do where they have stands on there own as you can police the people looking At the cars and they seem to leave room for doors to be open .
I wonder if we could start looking at a club forum information stand as it’s the 50th of the Capri next year . Also I don’t even know where to look .

We leave about a doors width between cars on the XR stand.Jasonmarie wrote:Yes that always worry me as Andy said about the dog peeing up his wheel , and us both park up together as people seem to be all over the car with metal studs on there coats and it’s working .

It's hard to stop people contacting with the car at times, as many want to look inside through the windows which is fine with me.
Some dog owners are stupid and have no thought for someone elses property.

Re: Classics @ Scolton 2018
The club supplies the flag, but a quick google search for sail flags came up with this place among others https://www.sailflags.co.uk/our-products/sailflags/Jasonmarie wrote:Cheers Andy yes your gazebo really stands out also the long flag . Where did your xr club get there bits from ?
Gazebo not sure but can find out. It's 4.5 x 3 metres so a big piece of kit and maybe a little too big at times.
And again a google search of Gazebo will give you ideas.

You get about Andrew great pictures, of what looks like every car in the show .
Far too many to pic a favourite (except maybe that Dino ..) & a show I'd like to pop along to next year. Thanks for uploading, your camera must be worn out. Glad you sorted bumper.
Cheers, Rob

Re: Classics @ Scolton 2018
Thanks Rob! I know I get a bit carried away with uploading the photos. They'll be even more uploaded to Flickr over the next couple of weeks....Caprifan Rob wrote:You get about Andrew great pictures, of what looks like every car in the show .
Far too many to pic a favourite (except maybe that Dino ..) & a show I'd like to pop along to next year. Thanks for uploading, your camera must be worn out. Glad you sorted bumper.
Cheers, Rob
It's been a hectic time for shows, but the next one is a few weeks away now. Just enough time to fiddle about with a few jobs like the bumper. This show is definitely worth a visit if the weather is good.
Andrew.

Hi Jason,Jasonmarie wrote:I wonder if we could start looking at a club forum information stand as it’s the 50th of the Capri next year . Also I don’t even know where to look .
The forum already has a banner, they take it along to CRaP:
Maybe admin wouldn't be very happy with another banner being used, as there is no way that they could have any control over a show display that the forum will be putting it's name to. There is the possibility of bringing the good name of the forum into disrepute. It might be better to start an offshoot of the forum, under a different name, solely for the purpose of meeting up at various shows. Just a thought.

Yes admin just emailed me I never new we had one but the big question is having the banner at the right place or show .
Also I would never lift the thing with my back and legs .
Perhaps we may be able to have a all meet up on the capris 50th next year and who ever has the banner then bring it along .
I think there’s a thing going on the 17th August in Lincolnshire but that’s when we are away most years . Also I did read there may be a advent at Brooklands ? What is a long way for many members .
Perhaps Capri club international May do something what is ok for many of us to drive if we get the date early .
I might send a email over to see what they are doing .

The scenery was too beautiful to resist, I had to stop and take a cheeky snap.
