When I saw him in on T/V in the 70's I thought he was in his 70's, he was only mid 40's/50 :o

"I went to see a topless female ventriloquist last night.....I didn't see her lips move"

 Ken

An absolute legend, probably the funniest comedian of them all.

I went round to the Kremlin last night, I knocked on the door and said is Len In? :D

There can't be many of these classic variety all round entertainers who brought joy to millions left now. Shame.

I don't like to speak ill of the dead and clearly he was a talented guy as he made a LOT of money and had a long career. I don't know him personally but I never did find him that funny. I know he was cleared of Tax evasion, or avoidance as it's now called.. Now I'm not saying KD did anything wrong as he was cleared. I put a spanner down somewhere but nobody can find it, I still had it though. Certain others in the public eye never pay the tax that they should,, Jimmy Carr for instance. Struggling NHS, no money for public services but some people are held up in lights and still have huge contracts. When you next can't get an operation or are having to que for the doctors or to see a dentist maybe the humour they portray will see us through.

Well said too many famous people paid far too much for very little including using how taxs . For example chris evans on over 2 million a year at the BBC

Actually , if I'm honest and and in danger of sounding a bit odd...... I have a fondness and interest in shite British cars of the 70's.
I'd secretly (We'll not so secretly now) like an All-agro in my collection and a Marina van :poke:

My Dad had 2 Marina's in the early 70's, they always made me car sick :(

My first car was a 1980 Marina 1700L, almost everyone else my age had a Mk2 Escort.

I bought a 1980 Marina Van in 1987 to use when I bought my first house (Sold my Mk1 XR2 for house deposit :crying: )

But I know what you mean, there's something about them now even though they were pretty :turd: A Marina Jubilee would be nice :D

:agree: I had a Marina TC coupe for a while and my sister had a 1.3 saloon Marina as her first car. Both my uncles had them and after one bought a MK1 Cavalier and the other a Vauxhall VX 1800 (Victor FE basically) which I still think was a lovely comfortable car.

As for the Allegro, if you got a good one I think it was a better car than the MK1/2 Escort as well as the Chevette. Allegros were very comfortable and had excellent ride comfort and if all of them had been better built (not by red Robbo &co) they could have been a world beater. A friend of mine had a brown Allegro 1750 SS, with twin carbs. This thing went like a rocket and we christened it "The Flying Turd!" I swear it left Escort Mexicos for dead!

The best one of the lot that I had was a 2000HL Princess automatic. When I started my garage business I was absolutely skint as i'd put every penny I had into the business but I needed some cheap wheels to get me the 40 miles each way around the M25 to work. I bought this Princess for £50 and it only needed a couple of tyres for its MOT. I gave it a service and cambelt and it did me for the next 5 months and something like 16,000 miles what with up and down the motorway, out and about on business matters etc and was absolutely brilliant. Sold it for £ 250 when I had earned enough cash to buy a Venetian red W reg 2.0L Granada automatic which was at the time a real upgrade!

Been watching some old TG episodes, and it still pi***s me off when they destroy useable classics like the Rover SD1, Princess and Dolomite Sprint for the stupid challenges :banghead: It's like those with money can destroy the things some people would love to own but could never afford

That's what I don't like about TG. Well, one of the things anyway!
It's all in the name of entertainment for the masses, like those chaps that recently destroyed an E reg Special on a TV show..... :D

RIP Jim.

What I liked about Bullseye was the way that if the players didn't win the final, the prize was always a car. If they did win, the prize was always something crap like a fitted kitchen. To share between two mates who lived separately! :)
