MOO 732V 3.0 Ghia

Post by Lez1962 »

Hello, it’s been quite a while since I posted on here so I thought I’d let people know what’s been happening to moo.
Since I got her home in December 2015 she’s had a bit of a journey, at first I took her to the local shows just to gauge reaction to her and she didn’t disappoint. People were loving the colour and Leather interior. But there was always a problem with the drivers wing high up near the door shut.
I never actually showed her but she seems to attract attention even in the car park. So since then all I’ve done is drive to the shows and go see the cars.
In the middle of last year I noticed some paint issues so I got a quote from a local company which was more than I paid for the car etc the first time.
Well someone else contacted me and gave me a more realistic price and we agreed on the work to be done. Bringing the story up to date I’m now waiting for her return after quite a bit of work.
This year I’ll be showing her in the shows and see where I go from there.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
Les.

Hi Les,
Good to hear from you and the update.
Really surprised you had paint issues considering who did the work for you :headscratch: Hope it gets sorted it's a lovely car.

Hi Andy, not as surprised as as I was at the amount of work she needed, I should get her back just before the show season and hopefully I’ll get to enter her in some this year.

Hi Les,
It's great to hear that you and the car are still on the Capri scene.
Might we see you at the CCI Nationals this year?

Hi Les,
They are at CCI headquarters, Badgers Hill near Evesham. Sunday 6th May.
As next year is the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the Capri, Surrey Capri Club are having a big bash at Brooklands that will be worth going to.

I’ve heard in the last couple of days that moo is back in colour with just the boot doors and bonnet left to do, then she gets put back together so hopefully she’s back before the first show on Easter Sunday. Feeling excited now.

Hi Les,
Great news!
You've got a beauty of a Capri and it will be good to see the latest pics when the work is finished.

Cheers Andy, I hope that’s true but the first time she was done it was such a botch job. It’s costing quite a bit to put her right for a second time that I feel she’s tainted, I love driving her but just a niggle in the back of my mind.

Hi Les,
Sorry to hear that you feel this way. Hopefully your feelings will change once you get back behind the wheel.

I'm surprised as the car looked awesome. But then I suppose photos can be deceptive.

Trust me it will be fine.
Once you hear the burble of the exhausts the smile will soon come back and any worries will fade to a distant memory.
Just drive it and enjoy it .

As I’ve said I love driving her and yes the sound of twin janspeeds is addictive but still feel she’s tainted by what’s happened. It’s just something niggling in the back of my mind.
I know she’s going to be ok when she comes back as she’s had another boat load of work done to her but it’s just how I feel
