Custom front valance
Custom front valance
As in title, has anybody modified an original valance or fabricated a newly designed one? The front Valance is the one design aspect of the Capri I'm not a fan of! It just seems to have unecessary design features which are all rust magnets as compared to the MK1 for example.
In case you've not guessed, mine is rotten but I don't think buying a new old stock one is worth the money!
Any advice appreciated

I have a fibreglass one on mine, great shape and mould if you decide to go down that route!

You can buy an RGA front spoiler which imo improves upon the original in every way, whilst making it look slightly more aggressive without going over the top. I have some high quality fibreglass replicas for sale if you're interested, much cheaper than any of the online vendors too.

Re: Custom front valance
The RGA spoiler sounds a good idea. Would this pretty much cover up the existing valance so it ceases to be visible ?
Wasnt it the RGA spoiler that also improves aerodynamic stability ?

I didn't take any pictures before I fitted it, but if you check my thread, on the first page there is a picture of it being fitted and sprayed...79Caprigl wrote:Do you have a photo of it mate?D366Y wrote:I have a fibreglass one on mine, great shape and mould if you decide to go down that route!

Re: Custom front valance
Danny's front valance must look very good as I've seen his car at shows a few times, but I've never even noticed that it was a fibreglass one!
The only photos I currently have on Flickr don't really show the valance that well.

Your Capri looks great with those JBW wheels on. Do you mind me asking where you bought the valance from as I know there are a couple of company's that manufacture them?

Thanks! Love those wheels!79Caprigl wrote:Your Capri looks great with those JBW wheels on. Do you mind me asking where you bought the valance from as I know there are a couple of company's that manufacture them?

And I got mine from CCI, don't worry about the little bit of damage you can see on the passenger side seam with the wing, that's just a rusty front wing that I need to sort
And I'm glad no one noticed it was fibreglass! Means it must be pretty decent... to be fair at the time I had it fitted I only went for fibreglass as no one had started to produce steel valences at all, or not at least at a reasonable price, and when I read about Mark's restoration on the main laser page and how he got a steel valence from CCI that was worse than the one he had I doubted I should look for one from them! Also, when I took that fibreglass valence and the pattern wing from CCI to the garage I used to fit them they said they were some of the best pattern parts they had seen and they basically only do repair jobs so see stuff like that all the time, so must be a good quality.
Thanks Andrew for posting the other pictures

The deep dish 4 spokes totally transform your car, mate.
Looks gorgeous
Guessing they're 7.5 not 7's
makes a huge difference

Re: Custom front valance
They are indeed 7.5's give the car a much better stance and when you look at it head on or from behind it properly fills the arches whereas the 7s make it look a little too narrow in my eyes...timfromull wrote:The deep dish 4 spokes totally transform your car, mate.
