This is a funny strange question .
Paint for the door key hole . So I always remember painting the round key circles in black (model paint ) and trying really hard not to get the paint in the lock part . But after a year I would have to re do them .
Is there a special paint I should be getting ?

Re: Paint for the laser door key holes locks
I use a special door lock surround paint, made by a bloke called Joe King.
Seriously though, whatever paint you use it will probably get scratched by the key. Hammerite is probably the most resilient paint and satin black should look right.
Andrew.

Sorry, I couldn't resist!
Personally, I wouldn't bother painting it unless it was really bad. It's probably one of those niggling things that seem bad to the car owner, but nobody else would even notice unless it was pointed out to them.
Andrew.

Whats it made of ? ( not sure exactly what bit your talking about ), I coloured the stainless bit with the key slot in it with gun bluing paste , took a few applications to get the right darkness , and it will take a fair bit of scratching to damage it .
Sometimes I talk to myself ... and we both have a good laugh

Hi,Jasonmarie wrote:Sorry it’s the small door lock as per picture .
I think Mc was asking if it's the actual stainless steel part that contains the keyhole slot, or is it the round black plastic surround?

Re: Paint for the laser door key holes locks
I did think that but thought perhaps it’s some wonder paint that does not mark .
It takes bloody ages for me to mask up cover the whole door so I don’t get any paint any where then when I have done it in the past it looks like rubbish .
