The bit in the section "the vendor has kindly supplied the following informaton" is definitely second hand car dealer guff. In fact, it's almost taken word for word from the original Ebay advert from 2013.

I wouldn't be surprised if the car has been passed around the trade ever since that sale.

Really surprised this hasn't found a permanent home yet :o

Not been cheap in the past, but at current 70/80/90's :ford: prices is it that expensive for that mileage :?

Certain other Fords/Capri's are still on the market too, have the ceiling prices finally been reached, and if so are the asking prices going to fall anytime soon :?:

I would guess prices will have to plateau sometime but it seems every make and model is rising in price at the moment. Even an Allegro sold for £2K at Anglia auctions last week and an ordinary looking nothing special 2.8i made well over £9K.

I do think things will start falling in some catagories when the interest rates go up as people will sell up and go back to the safety (if there is such a thing) of money in the bank.

Bloody risky buying any car as an investment :?

I've seen cars that have been around for months and even after a price drop of 2/3k are still on the market......
Location, condition and mileage also a factor imo, but only takes a similar model to sell and everyone assumes that's the price. Wrong!

It will be interesting to see how much C450SOY sells for in Mathewson's auction on Saturday.

C450SOY is now to be entered into the auction on 21st April.

It sold for £14,625 at Silverstone Auctions back in May 2017, will it fetch more this time around?

Hi Andy,
Good find, I remember that car being mentioned on this forum. If I recall correctly, soon afterwards it was for sale at a dealer for £20K.

It seems that the car has been in the hands of a Northampton-based collector, that's probably why it doesn't have an MOT.
Personally, I can't see it making near the £20K it was advertised for with the dealer.

:agree: Too afraid to put a mile on it

:sorry: Without history it can't be a guaranteed low miler

I wonder if C450SOY sold at Mathewsons this time. I went to Mathewsons to have a look at this one. Bit hard to see it properly due to poor light and being surrounded by other cars (it was not an official viewing day). Did look very clean and solid under the bonnet.

Mathewson is an interesting place to visit and the staff are friendly and helpful.

More than I thought it would fetch. The condition must be good enough for the bidders to think that the car is a genuine low miler.
