Big big big great news

Post by Jasonmarie »

So what is it I just went on line to check my MOT history and guess what they have started doing ....

You get where the car was MOT so if your wondering where your old car is you can almost find out with the mot history .

Here’s the link https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/?_ ... 1497929080

Enjoy looking up your old cars .

Hi,
I noticed this change the other day. I also noticed that the site now does not mention any advisories noted on the MOT. In my opinion, that was a useful feature.

I have been playing as I looked up my old galaxy and there loads , they must be adding it on . I think it great as some of my cars are still near where I live .

Sold my galaxy in 2013 with 35k on the clock and think it’s been used a taxi afterwards

Hi,
That's strange, as the registrations I tried the other day didn't show any advisories on the site, as I mentioned, but now they are listed.. :?
The site must have been revised since I last checked.

There's not much point of me checking anything on the website, as every single car I've ever owned in the past has now been scrapped.
Although they were fine when I sold them, honest! :)

Wow ! Jason just seen this mate. Bleedin hell fella its a small world aint it

Mate the last registered owner of B112 was a chap called Martyn Wheeler. I actually met him at Simply Ford a couple of years back. He sold B112 to a classic ford dealer called "Days of Grace" just outside Southend On Sea where I bought it from so he would have been the owner that did that MOT in Gillingham as that's where he lived. What a great story Jason...brilliant !!

It was unbelievable to meet him at the show. He came up to me and shook my hand when he seen B112 and proudly told me he used to own it. His wife was with him and they were both very touched to see the Capri in such nice condition as he had wondered where it had ended up. Their kids pretty much grew up in it so they were both almost tearful when they seen it again !!!. He was very happy with the changes I made to it, especially the engine bay :) His wife said he was over the moon to see it again and never really wanted to sell it but for the circumstances he had to sell one of two Capris he owned. He told me he always regretted selling B112 but was glad it was now in veryyyyyyyyyy safe hands

Here is a couple of pics I just had to take on such a great occasion

Still find it amazing our Capris both went through the same MOT test station Jason. I feel related to you now :guitar:

All the best fella

Nick

No that’s not the bloke my man was in his 80s from gillingham last name was Webster . but lastnight I thought I was going mad I only put your number plate in as you posted your reg number that day .
And bang there was the same mot station then my car I thought hang on something wrong here it’s me as I come from rainham in Kent and that mot station is only small on a business park .

What is the chance as there must be millions of MOT stations I thought I had done something to the system .

Nick I might have to call you a lost family member . You must have put my number plate in a saw they we’re mot at the same place .

I would say there is more chance of winning the lotto then that .

I only became aware of this website about 18 months ago.....It's great that you can now see the garage that did the tests.

No more hiding info by unscrupulous owners or dealers :)

It should also show when there is a fail on multiple items (which you'd expect would take a little while to get the parts and do) and then a pass the same day - if it's at another station they may be chancing their luck going to a shady place where you can get a pass for a small consideration...

Well done!
I'm not surprised your car passed with no advisories, as you take great care in keeping your car in excellent order.

Cheers they was really busy a Tickover Today but at least I know it’s ok and no hidden things that I can’t see .
Going to get them to do a full service again in April with a coolent flush . Coming home I took a long way home and had to put the heating on as I was cold and I almost forgot how good the Capri was for keeping me warm . Also radio kent were playing Tom Petty songs so I felt I was back in the 80s .

It was a useful feature of the site and it was good while it lasted! Maybe it's been removed for security reasons.

For a very small amount of time I thought the government had done something that was really good .
Last time was the NHS but they are not looking after that perhaps they took it down as they are saving for the big payout to Europe ?
