i thought this job might involve lots of skill and finessePaul G wrote:Like I've said in a previous post, I use a long thin chisel and put it on the right edge of one of the flats of the nut then give it a good twat with a large tapping stick. Works on most models, not just Capri's.

Re: water pump replacement
So I finally got the fan and water pump off! the “paper” seal was just slime.. no wonder it was leaking lol.
Also just out of curiosity does anyone know why the blades on the fan aren’t evenly spaced? I would have thought it would be same as a desk fan for example. A couple blades seem chunkier as well . is there a specific reason for it?

Re: water pump replacement
Just started the car for first time after refitting everything and it red lines instantly. Any ideas what would cause it?. Scared me to death! ... on the bright side there’s no more leaks from water pump

Your throttle cable or the linkage on the carb must be jammed by something.NaisiaN wrote:Just started the car for first time after refitting everything and it red lines instantly. Any ideas what would cause it?. Scared me to death! ... on the bright side there’s no more leaks from water pump
