If you're talking about the Mk3, they didn't.

Re: Front grill
If you mean the mesh grille that had FORD written on, they are from the Mk2 cars ('74-'78) and then all the Mk3 cars ('78-87) had the plastic grill with the ford badge on the front
You can put a Mk2 grille on a mk3 car as the screw-holes are in the same place and it is quite a common change. In fact a lot of the MK2 guys get annoyed that the Mk3 guys always take all the grilles!
Cheers

Re: Front grill
Any preference to whether should change it or stick with the mk2 grille
Re: Front grill
It's your car and you should have it how you want it But always keep the original parts so it can be put back to standard if or when you want.Dreamachine wrote:Any preference to whether should change it or stick with the mk2 grille

Re: Front grill
Ok cheers guys..think will stick with the mk2
Re: Front grill
The holes might line up but you'll need to drill out the spot welds and remove the extra lower mounting lugs ford welded on especially for the mk3 grille. Unless you bend them backwards or remove them completely the mk2 will not fit.D366Y wrote:If you mean the mesh grille that had FORD written on, they are from the Mk2 cars ('74-'78) and then all the Mk3 cars ('78-87) had the plastic grill with the ford badge on the front
