Post by oldfords »

I'm off to the Ace on Saturday and was wondering if anybody else is and might fancy meeting en-route or at South Mimms for a cruise down the A1 to the Ace.
I am travelling from Harlow can go via either M11 or A10 then M25--A1

Hi Jeff.

I have just been onto John (taff50ish). We are meeting up then we can pop over to meet you and anyone else at South Mimms. What time were you thinking fella bearing in mind getting to the The Ace in good time ? Think we got there about 11 am - ish last year ??

Neil look forward to seeing you mate and hopefully Mark too. Presume you are convoying up with Mark via Hindhead ( :woot: ) then meeting Kris and the Surrey boys on the A3 ?

Paul be really great to see you again mate if you can make it.

Hopefully Danny and Jason are coming too and maybe more ?? Should be a good forum turnout !

Until Sat then chaps.

All the best

I'll definitely be there chaps! But seeing as the Ace is only a 20-30minute drive straight down the A40 I think I'll pass on the massive detour to South Mimms or down the A3!?

Look forward to seeing you all there tomorrow :)

Cheers

Just been reading over on Capri World that Kris and Calvin are asking us not to arrive before 11am expecting to get into the car park as this causes problems for the Cafe. Arrival for carpark entry is 11am. See you there !

Hi Nick
I reckon the Ace is about 30 mins down the road from the South Mimms...If you still fancy meeting up I'll look to arrive at the services about 10.15 and we can shove off about 10.30.. If you are up for it I can PM my number over later Jeff

Hi Jeff.

Sounds like a plan mate. Will get onto John but yep 10.15 sounds ok to me. I will be arriving with John so just keep an eye out for two Lacquer Red Capri's. We usually park up down the far end of South Mimms Services near the exit. I will pm you my number too.

Until tomorro morning then Jeff....

All the best

Peter....ermm...let me put it this way mate.... :crying: :banghead: :crying: :banghead: :crying: :banghead: :crying:

Can you guess........

Had a brilliant day considering the weather....the bleedin dam weather.....that horrendous torrential rain.......BUT and its a very positive 'but' I actually felt a massive weight lifted off my shoulders whilst driving in the monsoon conditions. But I have to say I was trying to see out of the windscreen past those bleeding wiper arm thingies that kept getting in the way every 2 seconds was a bleedin nightmare !!!!!!

Chaps not a massive turnout at The Ace but still a great day and met some old and new friends. Not too many pics I'm afraid as I spent most of the day drying off the car

Will post the few up over on The Gallery in a moment.

All the best

So sorry Nick as I really wanted this meet up at the Ace as it's on my bucket list . But as they say another day . I even filled the Capri up with petrol and gave my car a good wax . So that rain would have beaded on that long bonnet .

Glad you had a good one and will wait for them pictures .

Hey Jason, no worries fella.

Yep was a shame you did not make it today, as was looking forward to meeting up at last, but as you say another time for sure mate. Bet you felt like you were all dressed up and nowhere to go after waxing and filling up your Capri mate

I can highly recommend this meet not just for the Capris but for the fact its The Ace too...great combination indeed...and they do a great 'big breakfast' as well, although John went for the 'special breakfast' to match his Capri

Just posted up some pics mate. Check em out !

All the best Jason. Have a great weekend.
