Paignton Car Show 2017 & Other Misc....

Post by andyd »

Went to this last Sunday, just under 400 cars entered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMaQq1g0FHs
6.46 to 6.58 my mates XR4i and my 4x4 :D

Had a quick chat with the chap that posted this video, he's a real car nut :)

It's great to see your car on the Tube. Someone filmed mine leaving QS. Car is looking good Andy, hoping to see more of it in September. Very arty video, looked a good show with plenty to see, 400 cars is quite a turn out. Cheers for posting.

Thanks Rob,
Lots of people with cameras when we left this one. Good show although a couple of light showers, but it is July after all :?
Bad turnout for the XROC, but :turd: happens......

Looking forward to QS Meet :D

Hi Andy,
Weren't you filmed leaving Simply last year too? You've obviously got a taste for this fame lark!
Your car looks great, by the way.

Hi Andrew,
Don't recall the SF filming :? Fame at last :D

Thanks, shes not a bad old bird :helpinghand:

A chap parked behind me there with a Jag XJS, told me he was a traffic cop years ago when the XR4x4 was their car of choice, he loved it.....
Memories, that's what these shows are all about for me.....And showing the youngsters what real cars were like :D

Hi Andy,
I do really enjoy looking around car shows and seeing cars that are scarce now.
The trouble is, I spend so much time looking at other peoples' cars I don't spend much time talking to show visitors about mine.

I know, it's not as easy as it sounds.....Usually go for a wander early on, then sit under the Gazebo until Icecream time about 2/3.00 :D

Oh dear.......

Andy just watched the video. Great stuff fella and as has already been said your 4x4 looks superb mate. Nice one. Was a shame I did not get to see it at Simply. Maybe another time...another place :)

Remember a while back I posted up about a Sierra 2.0 Ghia left to rot on a driveway my bus passes every day....well its still there and really starting to look worse for it. Such a bleedin shame and such a waste....

Anyway great video. Thanks for posting Andy.

Now....about this Mr Whippy business..........

Hi,
You'd only have to sell 100 ice creams with a flake to make your money back on that van......

:agree: £145 does seem a bit steep for a Mr Whippy

Shame I missed this show, I was in Paignton a couple of weeks ago when I went down to buy the 2.0S. My cousin and her husband live just outside Paignton so I stayed with her. Had a nice evening meal in Brixham, but no Mr Whippys!

That's the point I was making.....Ice creams/burgers/drinks are very expensive at events. Obviously not £145 but I was simply being whimsical...

Andrew.
Most local shows are £2.50/£3.00 for my preferred sized Mr Whippy :) I Remember when they were called 99 :?
I believe Burgers, Bacon Rolls etc are around £3, and Teas, Coffees from 50p to £1.50 although some shows are alot more :spank: (I don't buy them) as I always take my own.....

IMO there is no need to be extortionate with food prices, if you take the family it can be an expensive day out.
