spotted this beauty yesterday...
Hi everyone,
I was walking home from work yesterday (4 miles as I like the exercise ) and 5mins from home in Winchmore Hill Green I was rewarded by seeing this beauty.....

According to "Cazana" online checker its a 2.8i Special. Absolutely stunning modification. Bumpers and side mouldings all removed. Love the front indicators ! I have never been afraid to champion this look on our beloved Capri and seeing this one was sheer joy. Really gives it a muscle car look and this one has been done so well, but yep some might not like it as much as me but you have to agree it really shows of the beautiful lines of the Capri....
Check out the twin pipes....bet this makes a bit of a 'growl'.....
All the best now
Nick

Re: spotted this beauty yesterday...
Looks in good condition but oh I would prefer it if it had the bumpers and correct indicators on. And the correct grille!!
Re: spotted this beauty yesterday...
Im not a fan of these bumperless capris either. I dont think they add "muscle" at all, but have the exact opposite effect as the car looks smaller and has no definition, and putting indicators off a trailer on the front isnt the ideal way to go about doing that mod either imo. Apart from that its lovely though. At least its got the right grille on it
Still, its nice to see one out in the wild regardless, i have yet to see a Capri out in the wild since owning mine, and the closest i got was a brief glimpse of a couple on the motorway down to Southampton a couple years back (going the opposite direction of course), haven't seen any at all since.

And just think of the mess you make if misjudging an inch or so whilst reversing in a tight spot. Bumpers are far more forgiving than bodywork!Arya2.0S wrote:Im not a fan of these bumperless capris either. Great to see them out and about isn't it Nick, bet you felt flabbergasted! I know that I do. But for the supreme condition that it is in, you would think that the front reg plate wouldn't have those marks on and the tax disc remnant would have been cleaned off. Although granted, these old cars are never finished and always 'in progress' so perhaps I am being too harsh, it is just that the body looks so fantastic and clean.Fordoholic Nick wrote:

I think the lines on the number plate look like cable ties holding it on.pbar wrote:Great to see them out and about isn't it Nick, bet you felt flabbergasted! I know that I do. I considered that too, yes you could be right Paul. Is that even legal? They could have painted them black/white so they fit inPaul G wrote:

Illegal I would think as it distorts the number 5 in this case.pbar wrote:I considered that too, yes you could be right Paul. Is that even legal? They could have painted them black/white so they fit inPaul G wrote:

I prefer it with bumpers too, although the back looks better than the front. It's as though they tried to make it look somewhat like a Mk2.....

Exactly yes, I thought it was a Mark 2 until I took a double take on the headlights.andyd wrote:It's as though they tried to make it look somewhat like a Mk2.....

Hi,
At least the bumperless look on this car has been properly executed. Some people simply take the bumpers off and leave it at that.
Andrew.

Re: spotted this beauty yesterday...
One could argue its "worse" because they couldn't put the bumpers back easily now if they wanted/had to, or if the next owner chooses to do so. At least the workmanship looks good.Andrew 2.8i wrote:Hi,

I am not a fan of the non bumpers don't know just looks like the car is missing it's looks , but to find one parked up on the street now is as rare as hens teeth .

Yes exactly, it's a one way ticket that is now.Arya2.0S wrote:

Re: spotted this beauty yesterday...
I quite like the smoothed bumperless look but wouldn't do it to a car myself. A previous owner had already done it to mine. I do think personally they look better with something on the front though.
Regards the original post it's always a massive thrill to see any Capri out and about, better yet if you're driving yours!
This is one of my favourite ever Instagram pics....

Bracey your Capri looks stunning without the rear bumper mate. Love it ! Its been done to a very high standard by the looks of it and really enhances the rear end a treat. Looks good with the rear tailgate spoiler too
In fact the whole car looks stunning mate. Lovely Capri you got there !
I seen this white Capri again this time on my way into work. Parked up in different place though. Will see if its there later tonight (2.30am!) on my way home....

Re: spotted this beauty yesterday...
Driving through Ashford on my way home spotted a nice looking white Mustang, then in front of it a very nice looking mk2 Capri in silver with black vinyl roof.
The reg plate was something like *PU 9**P, all standard L but with dark grey / black minilite wheels and wing badge said 1.3
Seeing the Rover P5 on the way to work and then the Mustang on the way back was good enough but the mk2 was a great sight!

I was coming back from a trip out on Sunday and spotted a beautiful Escort Mexico that sounded amazing. I was so concentrated on catching him up in traffic it was a mile or so before I noticed we'd joined a little convoy comprising of the Escort, a Bentley, my Capri and a Lamborgini! I assume they were on the way to a show as they all turned off together. I really, really wanted to follow but I had passengers in the car and a wife waiting at home...
