Just a quickie regarding my 2 litre (205) upgrade from the original 1600.
I'm guessing the gearing will be different with the original 1600 axle, and it would have to work harder at higher cruising speeds.
I will get a lot of benefit from upgrading to a 2 litre axle too, but how much?
Rear axle?

Re: Rear axle?
The benefit of fitting a 2.0 litre axle is that it has higher gearing which means the engine will be doing less revs at any given speed and hence the car will be quieter and more relaxed when cruising and theoretically fuel consumption will be better. The trade off for this will be that acceleration will be a bit slower than with the lower geared axle.

If you want to sell your old 1600 axle, I'll give you good money for it. Let me know first!

Re: Rear axle?
I'd be keeping the 1.6 axle for better acceleration
