Re: SmokeEm...
Passed with no advisories Although my factory fitted Ford air horn literally broke as it was on test! Thought it was the earth, but that's fine.. but he was kind and said "it was working at the time of the test, so its passed!"
Bit annoying though!

Tom this is brilliant news fella ! I am made up for you mate as you had been having proper problems trying to get your insurance sorted. Good old Dave ! What a great bit of advice and contact information. I got some great advice from Dave too recently re my Aldon Ignition and Valvoline 20/50 oil. That's why I love this forum so much. Great bunch of folk here always ready to give great advice and a helping hand. Nice oneSmokeEm wrote:No problem Tom, I knew they would get you sorted.

Another bit of brilliant news for you fella. You must be over the moon to not only get your insurance sorted but to get the mot ticket too. Funny that your horn packed up during the test Tom but its good to see some common sense from the tester being shown. Really pleased everything is working out for you mate.
All the best
Nick

Out of interest, what insurance company has the broker insured you with?
Andrew.

Great news, there's nothing more satisfying than a new MOT, except perhaps eating a nice meat pie.
Re: SmokeEm...
Thanks for all the feedback guys
I'm with Markerstudy. That I was with before. No idea what all the bother was about first time around.. crap brokers I guess.
Just been underneath it just now trying to sort its weird starter motor problem out (struggles to turn over just at the moment of firing. Corrosion on starter contacts and body earths I think. High state of tune so any slight resistance takes a heavy toll. Bit better now).. ahh.. the first layers of grease and oil on my fair, peachy skin.. the fear in the back of your mind that it might fall on you.. and it refused to start this morning as the alternator had gone the day before (replaced now)! I'd forgotten the joys of Capri ownership
Got to pick up my future step daughter later so we'll see if my tinkering has had any effect.
